a "sip and see" for Eden Marie

This last saturday, my sister, mom, and my aunt Franny hosted a "sip and see", or a.k.a a "meet and greet" for Eden Marie.  It was such a special time to sit with family and old friends and just enjoy each other's company, in celebration of our baby girl's arrival.  It was such a sweet time!
Such amazing decorations:
The prayer cards that I made for people to take home:
(I used the 'E' that my friend Angelina made for our other shower... I just love it so much!)
Jars filled with cookie ingredients that people took home as party favors:
Pictures of some very special women:
Eden enjoying her great grandma Marie
I love these two women:
(I don't think I laugh harder than with these two...)
the guest of honor:
 My sister and I
Family pictures:
Four generations:
 Eden and her grandmas:
It was such a special time of sharing great food and community with some of my favorite women.  I am so thankful for the women that we have in our lives and I am so happy that these are women that Eden will grow up with.
Thank you guys for making it such a special day♥.
We felt incredibly loved and supported (And very spoiled!!!)

glimpses in our day

The last few days have felt like we are running a marathon.
(I have never run a marathon and am way to out of shape to even mention something like a marathon, but I digress...)
Here is our last two days documented via iPhone:
There is no better way to get going than with some homemade iced coffee mocha
In theory, shouldn't doing dishes be more fun when they involve these fun colors?!
(No not really...)
4 people in our house has really increased our laundry loads...
Sheesh!
But look who is all about helping me:
It's funny how a trip to Target for things like dish soap and 409  can lead me right to the girls clothes:
(I came home with two of these dresses...)
A trip to Costco that always leads to a hotdog and TONS of ketchup:
Lots of feeding my baby:
Making prayer cards for our "sip and see" for Eden this weekend:
While Eden was sleeping, Ryder discovered Kit's ear phones:
Taking care of our flower garden.
(My family teases that I never weeded when I was little, so as a home owner,
I am making up for that now...)
Kit grilled steak and so I played around with cheesy mashed potatoes:
More feeding:
Ryder is ready to do any house projects that need to be done:
Needless to say, our days have felt very full and we are enjoying every minute of it!  I am thankful that we can have these days together, even if by the end of the day, I feel like we've run a marathon♥.
We hope that you you have a wonderful weekend!

daddy time

These moments are so special to us.
From sleeping together:
To when they just get to look at each other and smile
 Eden loves her daddy time!
Kit, I am so excited to watch you in your father-daughter relationship with our little girl.  You are an incredible dad and we are ALL so thankful to have you in our lives.
We couldn't love you more!

could have done without that

While making dinner a few days ago, I looked down and realized that while Ryder had been playing outside, he had found some mud in our backyard.
It was tracked in every where.
Life with little people...
It was one of those moments I could have done without after a long day. I tell Kit that I feel like I am cleaning up throughout the day, but I don't feel like I really clean our house.
Between cleaning up before and after meal times and after play times with toys or if we pull out craft projects and supplies, I feel like I am cleaning up all day, yet things like actually cleaning my bathroom takes some major effort.
Does this happen to you?
Sheesh...

2 months

We cant's believe that our baby girl is two months old.  I know that it goes fast, but there is nothing like living with a little person to realize just how fast time can actually go!
Eden Marie~
We are so thankful to have you in our lives.  You are a happy baby, full of smiles and giggles.  You love to snuggle and cuddle any chance that you can get, but you don't mind being propped up while watching all that your brother is getting into, and you are so patient as he kisses you and tugs on your arms and legs and as he whines to hold you all by himself.  You go with the flow.  (I think you take after your dad!) You are sleeping through the night, you are an amazing eater and you are holding your head up while doing your tummy time.
You truly live up to you name: you are a true delight and you bring so much joy to all of our lives.
You are so loved, little girl!

Celebrating best buddies!

This weekend we celebrated one of Ryder's best buddies with a john deere themed birthday party.  Hank Thrash was born 10 days after Ryder and we are best friends with his parents.  (Mark and Kit were room mates all through college and stood as best men in each other's weddings.)  It was so fun to be pregnant at the same time with our boys and we have loved watching them grow together.  We still can't believe that our little men are two years old!
Here are the boys when they first met back in April of 2010:
Then hanging out a few months later:
Here they are in October 2011:
And here they are at two years of age:
(I know, I probably didn't have to put all those pictures in, but each facial expression was just too good not to share...)
Ryder's face kills me!
We tried to get a family shot, but as you can tell in the background of this picture, Ryder was way to preoccupied with using his water gun on the other little party guests:
We could not love this little guy more.  We are already praying that he and Ryder will have a close friendship that mirrors brotherhood and we look forward to living life with these dear friends!
Mark and Jamie~
We love you both so much!  We appreciate the people that you are and how purposeful and intentional you are with both friendship and parenting.  We respect and love you both and are so thankful to get the privilege of living life with you!

Fashion according to Eden Marie

Girl clothes are so much fun and while my baby girl is letting me, I am having some fun dressing her up!
So here is some fashion thoughts according to miss Eden Marie:
If in doubt, add a tutu:
If you are having a bad hair day (Or if you don't really have any hair...),
a beanie always does the trick:
It's all about rosettes...
and bright colors:
Accessories can be so fun:
Matching people you love can bring such enjoyment:
Needless to say, dressing our baby girl has been such a treat!
Thank you for those who have spoiled us with Eden's wardrobe...
Every single item pictured above was a gift from close family and friends.  We are truly spoiled!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ps, I am still a little new to the whole head band thing. Sometimes it looks like it's too much to one side and other times it looks like a flowering horn in the center of her head.  However, One time I had her on an errand with me, I had her wrapped in a white blanket and NO head band and I was asked how old HE was.  Yep, I don't really care where the head band lands, as long as I don't get questions like that...♥
