Happy October 31st!

With this being Eden's first halloween, I wanted to get lots of pictures like I had done with Ryder.

creating: Eden's trick or treat bag

Ok, I know it sounds silly that our 8 month old would have a trick or treat bag, but hey, I was really excited about it so I thought I would do it.
I made one for Ryder last year and it was really simple:
Here is October 31, 2011
So I had the same idea to use a stencil and a canvas bag:
I couldn't find the stencil that I wanted so I bought a blank sheet and found a font that I liked online.
 traced it:
then cut it out:
 and painted it on:
Then I sewed on some of my vintage buttons:
We can't wait to take the kids trick or treating!

a weekend of family time

We had an AMAZING weekend as a family!
Saturday was so delightful: Kit and I were both off for the entire day!  It is such a great feeling to wake up all together and not have to be anywhere.
(I know, that's the story of MY life, but not Kit's.)
We got things done, got a little solo time when kids were napping and carved out some fun family time.
Here are a few highlights of the weekend:
We had a picnic at a park by our house:
We brought our soccer ball and sandwiches and snacks and camped out on our blanket.
(Picnics are such a treat.  The weather here is beautiful and we can't believe this week is November!)
Eden is teething and has a runny nose and wants EVERYTHING in her mouth.  Poor baby is handling it like a champ but I know she is just miserable...
On our way home from the park, we got some starbucks and then while the kids were down for their naps, Kit and I sat and talked and it was so good to connect.
Then Kit gave Ryder a haircut.
We really like how it came out.
We all went to church together on saturday night.  Ryder loves his class and Eden sleeps in her carrier.  It's so nice to be there together.
Then on sunday, we slept in and had some quality time together as a family.   The morning was filled with cuddling with the kiddos and playing hide and seek in our pjs.  (Ryder thinks that if he just lays in his bed with the covers over his head, that constitutes a hiding spot.)   After the kids ate breakfast, we walked over to our favorite doughnut shop for a little coffee and doughnuts.
Then Kit took the kids and gave me time by myself.  I did a little shopping and got a date night top:
And then I went to Michaels and got some supplies for a fun project I will tell you about tomorrow♥.
Kit and Ryder played catch while Eden and I took a nap.  Kit set up a T ball set with PVC pipe and Ryder loved it.  I woke up to hearing them laughing together.
Kit is such an amazing dad.  They love each other so much.  They love being together.
I can't tell you how great the weekend was.  The connection that we had, the time we got to enjoy each other's company, and the memories that we got to make.
I hope that you have a great monday!

fashion according to eden marie: new pajamas

With the weather getting cooler, Eden has been sporting her new pjs.  (Thanks Moris!)
She has just been sleeping in a onesie, so this has been a fun change!
According to Eden, when you sleep 12 hours each night, you should love what you are wearing♥...
Have a wonderful weekend!

storytime

Yesterday, the kids and I went to our first storytime at our public library.
I'm going to be honest, it started a little rough.  I was late because Eden had TWO HUGE blowouts.  Then we walked into the room and Ryder freaked out that I was going to drop him off with total strangers.
Then he just wanted to walk around the encyclopedias, until he found the computers with fun games and he was a very happy camper...
We finally relocated to the kids area where he became fixated on puzzles.
He played with other kids and we ended our little outing on a very positive note.
We will be doing it again!
