family of green thumbs...

This week we spent time with our Mia and Papa for gardening, pool time and movies...
The gardening has been such a fun thing for the kiddos to be part of...
It's so fun to have them spend time together, doing something that they all love...

Teaching important lessons...

I looked out the window the other day and saw this:
He gets $1 for mowing the front and back yard and he is so excited!
I just can't believe how big our little man is!

Sprucing...

Over quarantine, our bedroom has become a sanctuary, an office space, a spot to cuddle up with the kids and have family movie nights or read together... With all that time, we have decided to give it a little facelift with new paint and fresh blackout curtains....
It started here:
Then we decided to start with paint:
We chose the bottom one:
Warm putty by Valspar:
We really have fun doing projects like this together.
 My contractor is the best...
It felt so much lighter!
Then we added the curtains and they have made such difference, both in look and in creating a darker space:
(This picture was from before we started painting...)
Our summer bedding finished it off:
And just incase I ever forget, here is our bedroom and bathroom when  we walked though on inspection, right before we moved in:

I am pretty thankful that my husband has a better vision for things than I could ever dream up...❤︎

Oxnard 2020

We are back!
We had such a sweet time at the beach with our family this last week!
We had so much fun just being at the amazing house:
 Complete with a rooftop jacuzzi...
We ate lots of food...

Complete with rooftop appetizers:

We played lots of games:
Zonk, chess, Yahtzee, spoons, Kubb, and even a a game of sardines throughout the 4 story house...

We are not quiet when we hide together...
We spent lots of time at the beach:
This beach is always so peaceful for us, always quiet, never crowded...

I found the TINIEST sand dollar, then promptly broke it trying to save it...
Boo...
Smash ball and Irish darts...
with some time for girl talk...
 ...and fishing...
We took walks, went on hikes, rode our bikes, and paddle boarded together...
The houses remind you that you are somewhere special...
 Point Mugu hike:
We really love this little corner of the world...

We also had a special trip to Anacapa Island:
We've wanted to check it out for the last few years and it was fun to finally see it's beautiful views:

 Inspiration point was gorgeous!

So. Many. Birds...

Then they swam in the kelp bed...
On the way home, Eden fell asleep on her Uncle Tommy, because hiking and having fun can tire you out!
The trip was such a special one and was SO needed in this season of this pandemic and uncertainty... I am so grateful for this family of mine and we couldn't be more thankful for our Mia and Papa who make it possible each year...❤︎
We are already dreaming about next years adventures and when we can be together again...
