March books

We are back from our trip, it is almost Easter and I am very tired, but I got to read a couple of books over the last few weeks before and during our travels and since it's the end of the month I wanted to mention them...
Anne Lamott is a really wonderful story teller and though I don't hold all the same beliefs, I love how she shares stories of her life and what she has learned in them and how God's goodness is present through it all.  I appreciate in all of these books how she makes note of grace, hope, courage, and all the things that come with them through the stories of daily life.  I love how she attributes her sobriety, mental health, ability to navigate immense loss, and all the good things in her life to Jesus. She is real and raw and I am grateful for her words...

Two of my all time favorite books is Anne Lamott's "Traveling Mercies" and "Operating Instructions".  I really enjoy her writing and work.
I loved this story. The main character, Elizabeth is strong and smart and as a story taking place in the 50’s and 60’s, she defies what women in science can be. Every book that has developed characters is always a win for me. I highly recommend it!

It's coming fast...

Next Thursday, we head out of the country to London and Portugal and we can't wait!  We will be coming back only a few days before Easter and I know that it will be a whirlwind of adventures and memory making as we come back to Easter.  These next days are getting our house/pet sitters all set, packing, and running errands and finalizing plans... I can't wait to update you with  all the memories that we make over these next few weeks... See you then!

Thursday...

These days have been so busy... But I want to step into my work days with gratitude that I have this job, that I can love on people in these exhausting moments with newborns.  So many steps to take today... Here we go!

you will {often} find us here...

The kids often have games or practices at the Great Park in Irvine and I sometimes forget to really take in how beautiful it is here in the evening...

I didn't forget you...

Often in the morning I get back from my walk and get breakfast going for the kids and do a morning devotional and get coffee going, and then I will look over to this:

Jelly Belly is the younger of our bunnies and is the more friendly of our rabbits.  She always looks at me like I might forget to give them breakfast... How could I forget?

Celebrating our 12 year old...

With the last few weekends being filled with soccer tournaments, Eden was so excited to finally have a chance to celebrate her birthday with her buddies this last Friday.

Here party plan was to have raclette for dinner, chocolate chip cookies  and vanilla for dessert and time for a movie and manicures. She planned the whole thing herself and she loved getting to hist her buddies! We went with the theme "Raclette and Relaxation".

It was such a sweet party and Eden was the absolute best host.
They had the sweetest evening and she felt so loved and celebrated.
I am so proud of this girl, and I can't believe how fast she is growing up!

more soccer...

Ryder and Eden have both been looking ahead to the Fall and are excited to play more soccer.  These are the months for tryouts for all the local club teams and it has been so sweet to watch them doing it together.  Ryder has already been invited to play to flights above where he has been playing and is excited to stay with his current club, Strikers.

Eden has been going out and doing so well and has been given contracts and invitations to play, especially since she is a goalie but is also really strong in the field... I excited to see where she ends up.

We are so proud of these kiddos and I can't tell you how fun it is to watch them have fun while growing and developing their soccer skills.
