April books...

This month was filled with lighthearted books and stories and it was such a treat to get lost in their adventures...

I really loved the character of Anne that Montgomery creates in her books, as well as the stories of additional characters. I loved reading the continuation to "Anne of Green Gables". I thoroughly enjoyed these.  I loved the movies growing up, and though the books are really not like the movies, the character of Anne is incredibly endearing and I am having so much fun reading the extended tales of her life with Gilbert and the community around them.
I absolutely LOVE this series.  I had only planned to read it for solidarity with Eden, but I have LOVED them.  This one takes the family outside of Harlem and is just as sweet of a story as the first 5.  When a book has you falling in love with characters, I just want to read it even more... We are on the countdown to the next book!
And finally...
Growing up in the evangelical Christian world, this book was simultaneously inspiring, eye opening, and highly educational in both mental and spiritual ways.  There are so many layers to this book and what she shares and bring to light... I strongly recommend this book!

I miss him...

Kit left on Tuesday for London to attend an Alpha conference. He will be there until May 6th.  My goodness, I miss him.  Before he left, last Friday, we went and took time in LA to do our Global Entry interview.  We are SO excited to look ahead to Greece and other adventures!

After that, before we got the kids from school, we walked through Armstrong Gardeners to look through the plants...
I am so happy that we get days like these together...
They make me miss him even more!

A day with our elder board...

This last Saturday, we spent the day hanging out with our board of Elders...  It was such a sweet day to spend time together... The started with breakfast:

Then we headed to the beach to ride bikes on the board walk:
Grabbed ice-cream:
Wandered around the Sherman Gardens:
Then we drove to get lunch...
Such amazing conversations were had throughout the day and I am so grateful for the time together!  We have navigated SO much over the years and I am so grateful to have these friends in our lives!

Time with our friends...

This last Friday, we got to have our Hank and Mae Thrash with us while his parents were at a meeting.  We dropped Ryder off at his soccer practice down in Newport, and then had a little adventure.

We took the kids to Crystal Cove and grabbed snacks at the the shake shack.

After we got Ryder, we headed to In-N-Out and headed home to watch the newer Jumanji and enjoyed some good laughs over it...

our last elementary school family lunch…

This last Wednesday, we had our last family lunch at our elementary school.  this year has gone so fast! I loved watching Eden with her buddies, saying hello to other parents that I have known since Ryder was in Kindergarten. I don’t want to forget how sweet it was to sit and snd just picnic with my girl. These moments are such a gift…

Fridays...

Friday has become my favorite day of the week.  Generally it's because I get to spend it with Kit, but also, we order take out and have a movie night with the kids and it helps kick off our weekend.  Very often, this is the scene from the morning, especially if the work day before was extra crazy...

I am incredibly thankful to have the chance to just go slow...

becoming a tradition...

Every night before I work, Eden snuggles with me and tucks me in...

It has become a tradition that I absolutely adore...

Celebrating a dear friend...

This last Saturday, our dear friend from Biola celebrated her 50th birthday by having a concert where she played her live music and we were all able to come together to celebrate her!  There was lots of food, laughter, and sharing of life together!  It was a moment we will always remember...

She also did a song with her daughter and son on the drums...
Photo booth shenanigans...
I love these people so much and I love that we have memories like this together!

Walk through the revolution

This last Friday, Eden had her "Walk through the Revolution" experience at school.  She memorized lines, had a battle scene and learned so much over their almost 3 hour experience!

Her bestie...
WE are quickly approaching the end of the year and all of the "lasts"... Oh my goodness, it has gone SO FAST!
Also, this was recently painted at their school and I am in love with it:
