Irvine Regional Park

After swim lessons yesterday, we decided to head to Irvine Regional park for a picnic lunch, hiking, playing, and a train ride.
 We picnicked...
 played...
 climbed trees...
explored for new trails and playgrounds...
 Eden found a peacock feather...
 Ryder pretended to hunt...
They played together and enjoyed each other's company...
 and we rode the train...
We ended up being there for several hours and we just enjoyed being together.  It was such perfect family time!  While Eden and Ryder were holding hands and running, Ryder said, "Mom, I help Eden go super fast! We are better together!"  I just couldn't have agreed more...♥

grilled pizza

The joke in our house is that if something can sit still long enough, Kit can grill it.
Oh my gosh, grilled pizzas are such a favorite of ours!
Summer days are slow and lazy and things like grilling just make you want to enjoy every second of these long summer evenings...
And of course, we are going to end these hot days with pool time!

train rides and daddy dates...

Yesterday, while Kit and I worked, my mom came out to take the kiddos to their swim lesson and then take Ryder back on the train for a two night sleepover in Redlands.  My niece Ruby came out too and it was so fun for the kiddos to have their cousin here.  How flippin cute is she!?!
He told us not to cry and that he would have the best time.
Stop it right now...
After Kit dropped them off at the train, Kit took Eden on a special "Daddy date".
She dressed up and he got her a flower, which is currently sitting in a vase by her bed.
 Eden asked for ribs...
 Kit was happy to oblige.
Then they got dessert.
She was in heaven!
Eden decided at the end of the night that she wanted to marry Kit...
My heart is so happy for Ryder getting loved on by his family, and that Eden and Kit have been starting new traditions.  My heart is very full.♥

Farmer's Markets

Yesterday, we checked out our Tustin farmer's market for the first time and we had a really good time.  It's small but the prices are great and so is the selection and the location in downtown historic Tustin is pretty fun too.
We walked away with nectarines, plums, fresh cheddar and garlic bread, and kettle corn.♥

"just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

We have been spending lots of time at our pool.  We walk to it and we usually have it all to ourselves. The kids love it!
Ryder also started his swim lessons this last monday and he is feeling so confident in the water.  I think of how far he has come since last year...
After lots of swimming, we picnic by the pool before we head home for naps:

Welcome summer! We are so glad you are here!

Swim lessons!
What a difference a year makes!
I just love this little fish...
And what makes swim lessons even better?
When you celebrate with ice cream cones afterward...

Summer is just the best...♥
