Her new obsession...

Eden has gotten OBSESSED with organizing, and I am not mad about it...❤︎

She did her craft room:
She and Ryder's bathroom:
She gets SO excited to make things nicer...
Our pantry:
She gets SO excited to make things nicer... I think Ryder is getting nervous that she is going to invade his room...

Great Wolf Lodge

This last weekend, Ryder was invited to a sleep over at the Great Wolf Lodge with three of his closest buddies.  They had THE BEST TIME! Swimming, basketball, mini bowling, eating tasty food, staying up late laughing... I love these boys so much and the role that they play in Ryder's life...

I love the friendship that these boys share.  They and their families are a gift to ours.

Mercy House Gala 2022

This last weekend, we were invited by our friends to attend the Mercy House Gala.  This is our second year. They are an incredible organization that is fighting to end homelessness.

We were honored to be there and to support and cheer this organization on...

We are out here ALOT...

With practices, pregame warm ups and batting practice, games that go two hours, and field maintenance, we are out here ALOT.  These days are coming to a close in the next few months, and I will miss it...

witnessing a miracle...

Over last weekend, Ryder had a baseball game.  In the last inning, a child on the other team, from another little league, had had a tough game, with HUGE frustrations, tears, meltdowns, tantrums, throwing equipment, and lots of ROUGH language.  I later learned that it had been this way for 6 seasons. This kiddo was up to bat for his team, with two outs. Ryder was catcher.  He hadn't played catcher for over 2 years, but can roam and it was needed. Ryder coached this little guy to breath through the pitch. After his first strike out, Ryder patted him on the helmet and told him he had this.  When the child struck out, ending the game, he was ready to melt down again.  Ryder took off his helmet and approached the kid as he was heading to his dug out.  He asked if he could hug him.  Ryder later told me he had anticipated the boy pushing him away.  But instead, the child hugged him.  He held on so tight.  People overheard Ryder telling him that he had had a good game, that he had battled hard, and that the next time play each other, Ryder will be watching out for him. There was not a dry eye in the stands. every coach on their team affirmed Ryder. I watched the Lord allow my child bring comfort and healing to another human being that was hurting.  It is such an honor and I am so proud to have a front row seat to witness what God's miracles and what he is doing in our son's life. There is such joy and HOPE in this next generation! Later that day, we received this email.  We cried.

I am thankful for this field and all of the life lessons that Ryder is learning on it.  Our coaches and parents are the absolute best.  I am incredibly thankful...

Easter 2022

Easter at the Fairgrounds...

Heading home for all the of the Easter traditions and shenanigans of egg hunts, eating, and dying Easter eggs...
We had an incredible Easter and I am so thankful for not only our family, but our church family.  We got to see God move and change lives and witness his goodness first hand.  The tomb is empty.  The Lord is ALIVE.  He is risen!  He is risen indeed...

Easter Preparation...

As we come off of the week of Easter (including set up, prayer for Holy Week, Good Friday, and Easter), there were so many beautiful moments that we got to experience, as our family, as a church family, and as a community.  All of it in preparation for celebrating our Risen Savior.

We started last Wednesday.  We had our staff meeting at the fairgrounds to pray over all that was to come. Kit will tell you that this is his FAVORITE staff meeting of the year. (And he loves being with his staff and team...)

On Thursday, our staff, leaders, and volunteers came to help with set up and to pray over the space and prepare the location for the weekend.  I got to work in setting up the children's area. Our Grandi and Monkey Papa came out on Thursday so that they could either be with us, or take care of the kids while we worked.
On Good Friday, we had our service with Canopy Church and A Place for Worship.  Being together as 3 churches was such a gift.
On Saturday, Ryder had a soccer game and a baseball game.  That's for a different post, but after a full day on the fields, we played Quirkle, made pasta, and stuffed Easter eggs for the next day...
Some of these egs have been used since Ryder's first Easter egg hunt...
We also spent time with OUR Easter bunny... Jelly Belly was not into photos but Baby Girl tolerated it...
We were ready for Easter Sunday!  With all the preparation, we were so excited for all that God had in store!

progress...

A week ago Saturday, I slipped on our  wood stairs and landed on my back.  It was really painful and I still feel sore.  I am so thankful that I didn't break anything.  It took me several days to get back into the groove of walking without wincing.  Each day I feel progress.  I very quickly came to appreciate mobility and that what I was dealing with was temporary.  Over a week after my fall, I was able to walk the loop in our neighborhood.  I found this rainbow on our walk, and said a prayer of thankfulness for progress and healing...

Celebrating Our April Babies

On Saturday, we headed out to Redlands to celebrate our niece and Ryder's April birthdays!

Soup was requested by my niece and they were really good!
We had a very sweet day together!  What would the world be like without these two?1?
