Thanksgiving 2020

On Thanksgiving, we had our Mia and Papa, Grandi and Monkey Papa, and Ethan and Dani with us for the holiday.  It is the first time that we have had people in our home since March.  The kids were over the moon to have people over! Everything was low key and I was grateful that we could be together. Kit made the menu, shopped, cooked, organized our activities, and ran the show.  He was in heaven and I was so grateful for him!  Here were some snap shots of the day...

We had fun setting the table:

We went for a morning walk:
We played and snacked and worked on our Whoville signs before we sat down to dinner:

Lots of snacks...
Then it was time for the main event:
Sweet way to finish off the day...
Kit made chocolate ganache:
Then there was kinetic sand with Aunt Dani:
The day was so sweet and full of thankfulness...
How grateful I am for this family of mine!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today we are with our grandparents, keeping things small and low key, and I am working tomorrow.  This has been an incredibly strange year, and to be honest, my heart has not been gravitating towards a grateful heart and thankfulness.  Today I pause, as I should each day, and thank Jesus for all he has done in my life.  My family, our health, our community, our home, his provision in it all...

We are thankful and today, and as we move forward, my hope is that I live into that reality each day...

Slumber party firsts...

On Monday, Ryder headed up to be with our best buddies the Cleary's for Caleb's birthday.  That gave Kit and I two whole days to be alone with Eden/. The last time this happened was winter camp a few years back.  We lived it up!  We went to a special spot for fried chicken which she requested:

We rented the Secret Garden:
And she slept on a blowup mattress in our room:
The next morning we got smoothies and got plants for a veggie/herb garden:
Then we GOT HER EARS PIERCED!
She's been waiting since her birthday last February and we finally made it happen:
She was nervous but even more excited, and she picked the sweetest little heart earrings...
I held her hand while Kit took photos and videos...
We headed home for naps, neighborhood walks, and take out tortilla soup from Avilas.
We absolutely missed Ryder, but these moments were so sweet and I know that we will remember them for a lifetime.

Christmas projects make perfect Thanksgiving crafts...

The grandparents will be with us for Thanksgiving.  Kit has wanted to add to his Dr. Seuss lawn collection and so he figured if we had the cut outs ready, we could paint them as a Thanksgiving craft when our family is here.  We are adding two signs:

It's a family affair...
Here it is the first one ready to be painted:
Then on to the next one:
All ready for painting!
Kit is planning to put them out next week and we are SO excited to see it all together!
