We are so proud!

These kids have blown us away on how diligently they have been working and sticking with their assignments and distance learning, having great attitudes when tech has been rough, or when they are ready to be done, they still push on.

Things that make life even BETTER:
Having Kit there to support Eden through her assignments:
He's lighthearted and encouraging and so so silly...
It's just what she needs...
And for Ryder, having his bunny there to help him with his independent work has been such a treat for him:
They are making it happen and we are so proud of them!

Our Distance Learning Mascot...

Since getting our bunny, we have affectionately made her our little mascot.  Our school time doesn't start until 1150am, which means that if the kids do their work the day that it is assigned, they have lots of free time.  So of course we have taken to playing with our mascot and yes, taking photos while they play... Photo Titled: "Missing Our Carpool Buddy":

Photo Titled: "Mondays":
Photo Titled: "Basketball for today's P.E.":
I mean, It's really too bad that this little mascot is not loved:

changing up spaces...

For my birthday, Kit gave me credit to get photo canvases at Costco for this little corner of our house.

Once we figured out the photos that we wanted, we played around with sizing, using canvases that we currently have...
(We have pictures of Ryder up, I promise...haha!)
Ryder made that wooden box as a tool holder this summer during his grandparent week with his Mia and Papa.  I just made it a little better for getting mounted on the wall. I sawed the handles off and sanded and stained it, all with Ryder's permission:

So once we got the canvases, all we had to do was get things mounted and organized:
I love how the space came out...
The shelf is filled with my Grandma Marie's prayer books...
We have a fun idea for a light fixture I am trying to find/make that will finish off the corner...
I'll keep you posted on it!
It's funny how when you are in your house, looking at the same walls, day after day, you keep rethinking the spaces.  Or maybe that's just me...?  Well this little nook finally feels like how I have wanted it to look, and that makes my heart so happy!  Thank you Kit for our photos

I almost cried...

This last weekend we picked up Ryder's baseball pictures from this last Spring season... The season that was painfully cut short due to Covid...

My heart was so full, thinking of all the memories and friendships that Little League has give us, season after season, year after year.  We are counting down the days to when we get to be back on the fields again. Until then, we wait, somewhat impatiently, excited for more memories to be made and the deepening of friendships!

one of our very favorite things...

Homemade pizza nights are absolutely one of our favorite things and if you ask my kids, we don't do them nearly enough...  So Saturday night was for homemade BBQ pizza.  We used some homemade dough and some plain Trader Joe's dough.  Kit's was my favorite...

Where is Ryder?  Look for Kit and you will find him...
It was such a sweet night and we loved all the fun toppings and combinations that we came up with!  One of our favorites was ricotta and homegrown figs from our tree!

Happy Birthday Mia!

Today is my mom's birthday and yesterday we were able to be together to eat and swim and celebrate!

Eating is one of our favorite things!
Pavlova for dessert!
We love you Mom! We love that you were born and that you are our Mia.
We are excited for what is ahead of you this year!

We are making it happen...

They are being such amazing troopers...
Eden has had some fun creative projects.  I had to give her a scribble and she had to make a picture out of it.
What she came up with... It's called an "oops picture" with this sweet message about how mistakes and "oops" moments are ok and that we can learn form them and turn them into something awesome...

Eden's teacher also found a creative way for the kids to tell her about themselves:

I can't tell you how proud we are of these human beings...  They are really giving it their best!

 We can't help ourselves...

We are SMITTEN!

New Rhythms...

We are in the PM group for our distance learning, which means that we don't start school until 11:50am.  So we are taking advantage and making morning walks and bike rides part of the routine...

Slowly but surely, we are finding our new rhythm...
