Chaperoning Fourth Grade Field Trips!

On Wednesday I got my name drawn to be one of three chaperones for Ryder's class for his field trip to Irvine Regional Park, as they studied the early Californian history and Gold Rush.
Walking through their recreations of what time would be like back then...
 Ryder was thrown in jail...
They rode the train and saw some things along the way...
Just a typical day, waving at Junipero Serra...
Talking about what it was really like to work in a mine:
Panning for gold!
Ryder said he liked everything but this was one of his favorite parts of the trip...
Learning about the people that made the trip out for a better life:
I loved getting to be with Ryder and his friends and it was so fun that we got to share this memory together...❤︎

Opening Ceremonies and Their First Game!

Last Friday was our league's opening ceremonies and their first game was on Saturday!
Our first game took place in the rain...  The kids loved it!  Ryder played primarily at second and had some beautiful plays.  They won and I could tell they were quickly finding their groove.
We are ready for the new season!

Celebrating our kiddos at school!

Last Friday was the school awards assembly to honor kids for their hard work and character.
First was Eden's:
She was honored for her character and being a kind and caring citizen of the school's community.
Then Ryder was honored for his work in social studies and his love of history.
A few weeks ago when I asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he said he wanted to teach history and coach a sport.  This award seemed especially fitting...❤︎
We are so proud of these kids, for their hearts and the human beings that they are, and for all of their hard work in each thing that they do.

Special celebrations...

On Sunday night, our Mia and Papa spent the night.  We made cupcakes, worked on organizing our toys to make room for potentially a new toy for our house, worked on a coloring project, read books, watched a movie, and then we ate at our favorite restaurant, Avilas.
Strawberry (because it's pink) with vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles...
When we get back from our Spring Break trip, Eden is getting her ears pierced!
She was given so many fun earrings!

 Avilas!
 Quiet reading before bedtime...
Then Yesterday, we had our birthday doughnuts on her special plate in the morning!
It was Mia's 1/2 birthday so she got a plate too!
 I'm addicted to this munch!

We took the cupcakes to school to share with her class.  One of her little buddies has the same birthday and so she brought goodie bags and we brought the sweet treats.
I love sitting with her little friends and classmates and asking them questions about their favorite things or the would you rather do this or that...
They call me Mrs. Eden's Mom.
And as I left, I of course had to find my favorite fourth grader.  He ran up to me in the middle of their  game of tag and my heart was ready to burst!
Eden got to pick where she wanted to go for dinner, and since we had just gone to Avilas, she chose Pizza Press:

 Oh this girl...
We all went around and affirmed her and listening to Ryder talk about his sister and her kindness was an incredibly proud moment for me as a mom...
Then, she went home and the present that she has been asking for was waiting for her: Roller-skates!
(We took a ton of videos and can't stop watching them!)
Be ready to see her in her skates at all upcoming events.  She can't get enough of them!)
Oh these celebrations and traditions, big and small just make my heart SO FULL OF JOY!
