school days (a little this and that...)

We had Eden's parent/teacher conference and she is absolutely killing it.  We are so proud of this girl! Then we had family lunch on her campus.  It was so fun to be there with Eden and her friends and getting to connect with other parents that we have been at school with over the last 8 years.

I have looked over the last several weeks and I realize that I spend a LOT of time in pick up lines: soccer lines, volleyball lines, cross country lines, school lines, ASB lines, youth group lines...
Eden is running for Broadcast Editor for Student Council!
She is so excited to try out for something new!
We got Ryder's school pictures, and all I can think is that time is going TOO fast!
Life is good...❤︎

Thursday

On most Thursdays, this is where you will find me.
On Thursdays, we have Biola nursing students on our unit, and it is such a throw back.  It's been almost 20 years since I was in nursing school. It's fun getting to share learning experiences of our patient population with them. Sometimes life comes full circle and it's sweet to have the chance to look back...(and know that you will never have to be in nursing school ever again...❤︎)

my favorite spot...

I love this spot at our house...

It has the best view for a nap...❤︎

nailing our selfie game...

We like to send photos to Kit when he isn't with us, and one time last week, we went to take a picture and had a full case of the the giggles and now I have these keepsakes...

Laughing together is one of my favorite things...
As well as knowing that Kit is coming home to us...

Disco Fever

Last week, our youth group had a 70's themed night.  It was cause to pull out the costume box for Ryder and our friend Jonas.  (Yep, when your dad has been a children's pastor, worked at summer camps, and done family ministry, we are ready for all the themes...)

It's so fun to be part of our youth group, being part of it's life groups, and getting to enjoy our church community!

Volleyball...

Eden made the volleyball team at her school.  She has been so excited to start and has been in our yard practicing each day.

It's the sweetest view from my kitchen window!  I am so happy for her and I can't wait to watch her play!

Chicken Pot Pie

I found this recipe on Instagram for miniature chicken pot pies.  They were great on a busy night of sports.  We served them with salad and the family really loved them!

While Kit was away...

When I look back at the last 11 days, it's funny to think of how many little things filled our days. I took snap shots to send to Kit...

There was drop-offs and pickups at school:

Ryder went to youth group on Wednesdays:

We did lots of meal plans while doing homework and studying:

Eating a quiet lunch after cleaning the house.  We never eat upstairs, but, it was nice for a change of scenery, especially as it was over 100 degrees outside...
We tried to beat the heat checking out a new home store and getting ice cream afterwards:
Smelling candles is our favorite...
Note how fast the icre cream was melting...
There were soccer practices and new uniforms:
Eden went to her first semi pro soccer game at the Great Park with her bestie buddies:
Eden had a birthday party on Sunday at Rockin-Jump, so Ryder and I watched LOTS of football.  I invited a buddy to watch with us:
Ryder ran his weekly 1 1/2 mile and I rode my bike to keep him company:
We went to our Back To School Bash at our church where we shared a meal and played games and launched them into the new year with prayers and love.  I love our church.
Our church will be having our 25th anniversary on October and we had a really sweet Sunday of looking back and having Mike Erre teach and the Proctors lead worship.  We can't wait to see all that is coming:
We made a trip to his office to leave him notes:
The highlights of the weeks were being together, especially getting to connect with their dad:
I am SO happy that our Kit is home...
Life is just better with him!

He's coming home...

Tonight, Kit will be home from his hunting trip.  He has been gone 11 days and we really miss him.  I love that he gets these memories with his brother!

I can't to hear about their adventures!

personalities on display

These two make me laugh every day.  They were checking their heights, and Ryder's smirk says that he is taller and her dance moves say that she is getting closer...
Getting to be their mom brings me so much joy!
