earthquakes...

We celebrated our one week of living in the house with an earthquake.  This last friday night was my first night alone in the house with the kiddos and a 5.3 earthquake centered about 13 miles way came and rocked our little house.  I have grown up with earthquakes but I have never been in a two story when one has occurred and I don't think there is an earthquake that Ryder can remember.  This one woke him up and he was in desperate need of snuggles and NOT sleeping alone.
Poor guy...
That night Ryder asked if he could sleep on Kit's side of the bed because his bed felt a little scary.  I watched this little guy sleep, so peacefully and he seemed so little!  I think of him as my big kid and the big brother and there one who shows Eden the ropes, but I forget that my little guy is not yet 4 years old.
The next day we were back in our routine and he bounced back to being my big kid and not my baby boy.
Who am I kidding, he will always be my baby boy...

outings

With Kit in Seattle, my mom came to stay with us to help me get organized and to keep me sane in a house that feels very chaotic.  I am busting it to hang things, paint walls and get things unpacked to have it feel more and more like home.  We are making such progress.  I hope to have some updated pictures soon!
We did however need a break from all the organizing and unpacking, so we headed to our local library and got cards for the kids.
(I have yet to change my address with the DMV but my kids have library cards... apparently you can tell where my priorities are...)

My dad came into town today to spend the day with us...
(It's always such a treat to have our Mia and Papa with us!)

Home

Our first home cooked meal with Kit's family was pasta.
Our house smelled so familiar!  Does that sound weird?
The next morning we made pancakes:
Oh my goodness...
I feel like I am home...
Kit leaves today for Seattle.
We miss him already!

keys, hugs, and good byes...

On march 24, we went and did a full cleaning on the Fullerton house and turned over the keys.  After we were finished, we walked through each room and talked about memories and reminisced.  We both cried.  We had called that sweet house home for over a decade.  It was emotional.
We got some fun little photos of our last moments in this house...
Ryder had our phone and was snapping away at photos:
I don't think I could possibly be more tired...
He requested we do a silly face...
The one he got with Eden and I...
I am so thankful that we were all there together!
The house was cleaned, keys turned over, neighbors were given our address and there were tears and hugs and goodbyes... A chapter is done. A new one is beginning...

what we have been up to...

We have been busy.
And very tired.
Here are a few glimpses of our last few days!
(In no particular order...)
Getting our key!
We filled two of these on moving day!
So many people came from our church and I was SO thankful!
I love our community...♥
I am so thankful for Kit's family, especially his parents who stayed with us for 5 days knocking out all kinds of complicated house projects...
We love you, Eric and Diane!

Our new house!

Here is our new house.  We are getting the keys today, but I just couldn't wait to show you the pictures from the house inspection that we did a few weeks ago.  Here is the information: It's  a 2 story.  It is 1,976 square feet, not including our enclosed porch.  It has 3 bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 bathrooms.  The yard has a large grass area with fruit trees and a covered patio.  It sits in a quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac, and it is 10 minutes from Kit's office.
So here is the house tour:

The family room off of the kitchen:
The sun room/enclosed porch that we are turning into a playroom:

The family that had been here loved this house and we are so excited to make it our own and to raise our family here!
We can't wait to show you our plans and projects...
Hint: Kit's parents are involved and my parents are coming to take full reign of Ryder and Eden♥.
We will be very tied up with projects and moving before Kit's speaking trip to Seattle next week.
Please pray that all goes as planned and for the things that will inevitably NOT go as planned, pray for patience and wisdom!♥
Hopefully when you see the house next, I will have tackled some of our projects to show you!
