Last Week of School 2022

Last week we wrapped up the last week of school before our summer break.  There are so many things that I want to pause and remember, but right now, all I can think is: WE MADE IT!

Eden had her class party on Thursday.  It was filled with field games, crafting frames for class photos, and popsicles.  But first, Mia and Papa got to send us off for the last time this school year!

Last time driving my 4th grader:
(How is she going to be in 5th grade?)
Field Games:
Crafting:
I loved getting to be there!
Then our last day of school photos on Friday:
5th and 7th grade, they are ready for you, eve if I am not... but first, SUMMER VACATION!

Little League Day at Angel's Stadium 2022

Well, here is a first for our whole family: we ALL attended little league day this past Sunday.  We tail-gated, the kids went on the field, we watched the game, we ate lots of food, and most importantly, we connected with people that we have do life with and hope to continue in relationship for MANY years to come...  Snap shots of the day:

Tailgating before heading into the stadium:

Always playing baseball...
Kit getting his ticket to walk the field... A first!

Walking the field:

Enjoying food and our seats while watching it all happen!
(We got to see both Ohtani AND Trout hit home runs!)
Such a wonderful day of memories!

Hugging them tighter...

Yesterday, there was a school shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

It's heartbreaking.  So I am appreciating everything a little more today.  I am hugging my kids tighter, realizing that there are 14 families that don't get that opportunity today.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

Closing Ceremonies for TELL 2022

Last Friday was the LAST closing ceremonies of our LAST season of Little League with Tustin Eastern.  It was such a sweet way to close out the over 6 years we have spent on these fields, with these families and coaches...

The boys from the league that have played over 5 years.
In addition the the 5 year plaque and taking first place, Ryder won the Sportsmanship of the year award.  I cried.  So well earned...
There is a core of boys that have been together.  I love watching them together...
Some boys we have bee with since the beginning... So of course we had to reenact the photo from 2016:
And in honor of it, we wore their old jersey's:
Our coaches are my favorite...
He has coached Ryder every season, and I have loved watching their relationship grow!
If you ask Ryder his favorite thing about playing baseball, he would tell you that it was the time spent with his dad...
I will cherish the memories, friendships, and life lessons from the last several years on these fields.  They have been such a gift to our family!
Now we are on to another tournament and All-Stars... Here we go!

Wrapping things up...

These last two weeks have felt very sentimental to me.  We are closing out the school year, there have been little activities, on and off campus that I don't want to forget.

1. Ryder had his class fair, where people bring in items to sell.  He decided to utilize the women in his life and turned to his sister to make batches of her slime and to teach him how to make rainbow loom bracelets on school colors:

He sold out...

2. Eden had her on campus family picnic:
I can't believe we only have one year left at our sweet elementary school...
3. Eden had her music recital:
The videos of this were priceless.  God bless music teachers!
4. Eden made the swim team for our neighborhood:
5. Ryder fell asleep and Kit carried him to his bed.  I wonder how much longer this will be possible?
6. With no practice last week, we were home to cook together, which got me SUPER excited about SUMMER!
The week ended with Closing Ceremonies for our Little League which I'll share tomorrow. How special these memories are to me and my family!
