summer adventures...

We tackled a few things on our summer list:
We saw a movie in a theater, Incredibles 2:
We used passes for Rockin' Jump:
We worked in our garden and ate what we grew:
And we ate ice cream BEFORE dinner:
The thing I love the MOST about summer is how flexible things are for the time that we have together. These lazy summer days lend themselves to such sweet memories and I am thankful for this time that we have together...❤︎

Father's Day 2018

This man has exceeded every hope, dream, and expectation I have ever had for a husband and a dad to our kiddos.
Our children know what a man is by the life that he leads and the example that he sets by how he lives each day.
We all adore him and we cant imagine life without him.  We hope that we are able to honor him, not only on Father's Day, but every day, for the incredible man that he is...

38 and 93 years old...

This last Saturday, we celebrated by Grandma Marie's 93rd birthday on Kit's actual 38th birthday.
We were going to get the kiddos from our parents at my grandma's party, so we had a low key morning before we headed out:
Kit requested special toast and coffee:
I have learned that I can I can put a candle in pretty much anything...❤︎
Then we headed to Long Beach to be with my side of the family to celebrate my Grandma Marie with pizza, family, and her cousin that has been a nun for 50 years, who brought 8 of her fellow sisters:
I am so incredibly thankful for this family of mine and the way that we can love one another and love life with one another...
It makes my heart swell with joy and pride!

While the kids were away...

We carved out such intentional time while the kids were away last week.  We celebrated Kit's birthday and Father's day early, knowing that the actual weekend would be so full of work and church...
Last Tuesday, I got home from work and we decided to have Yogurtland for dinner, simply because we could:
Kit had to work all day Wednesday, so we made a date to use gifts cards we had to have dinner at P.F. Chang's at the Spectrum, for Kit's birthday:
then we headed to the District for dessert:
 YUM!
On Friday we spent the whole day having a combo celebration of his birthday and an early Father's Day: A new bagel place opened by our house and so we tried it out.  It was really good!
Kit's parents had given us movie tickets for a date night for Christmas so we headed to the Big 6 to watch Ocean's 8.  Reclining seats are THE BEST!
Then we took our first ever visit to Roger's Garden's and we LOVED IT!
Kit loves gardening and was in his happy place...
Then we headed for lunch True Food Kitchen, where sweet friends had given us a gift card for Kit officiating their wedding:
The curry is a favorite!
We laughed and dreamed and talked about silly and mundane to deep and soulful things.  Any time we are together, we have a fabulous time, but it is so fun to carve out the time to remember and celebrate all the reasons that we fell in love almost 20 years ago.❤︎

A kick off to summer...

Last week, from Tuesday to Saturday, our kiddos were with our family in Redlands, as a time to kick off the summer vacation.
They had the best time having all sorts of adventures, from trips to the Discovery center in the Desert, seeing movies, going bowling, eating tasty foods, attending a special tea, and playing dress up and having TONS of pool time...
Tiny snap shots that we received through out the week:
It was the best kick off to summer the kiddos could have had!
We love you family! You guys loved on them in such a BIG way and on us too!❤︎
