It only took one melt down...

 Several months back, we had gotten a new bed.  Part of the delivery was removal of the old bed.  The delivery guys just thought that they would send it down the stairs without carrying it.  They managed to scrape the paint down to the raw wood, as well as leave an indentation on Every. Single. Step.  I may have melted down. I was so bummed, but the company said that they would make it right and cover the costs to have the stairs repainted.  We were so grateful... Here is the before:

And the after:
It's funny, you really can't tell in the pictures, but it looks SO much cleaner and nicer.
We are so grateful to have the project finished!

I almost lost it...

 I got a message form Ryder after school on Friday that he had jammed his left thumb while playing catch with a football during PE.  He had a note from is orthopedist that he is not to participate in PE for three weeks.  His thumb was twice its normal size and extremely bruised.  I thought FOR SURE it was broken.  So for the second time in less than two weeks, we headed for x-rays.  Thankfully is was a really bad sprain.  He came home from urgent care like this:

I am not going to lie.  I almost completely lost it on him.  According to the physician, had it been broken, he would have needed a cast for about 6 weeks.  Soccer would have probably been over.  So many things would have been such a hassle. We are so thankful that is not how it ended up and that everything is healing as it should.  After knowing that everything was ok, we did get a chuckle that both hands were out of commission for the weekend...

my guy...

This week was early let out for Eden for parent/teacher conferences.  I had two days of work activities and shifts and of course the usual soccer practices, meal planning, and figuring out carpool so that we could get kids where they need to be...
I have never been so thankful for the teammate that is my husband...
He humbly serves our family everyday.  He selflessly loves us all so intentionally. Our kids are the people that they are because of the role that he plays in their lives and I am so incredibly grateful that he is ours.

fall is here...

 We pulled some decorations out this last week.  It is in the 90's and not at all feeling like fall, but we are wishing it to be here by baking pumpkin bread, lighting fall candles, and seeing pumpkins out...

The scent in our kitchen...
Living room bookshelves...
We added cotton stems this year...
Dining room went neutral this year and we really love it!
Probably one of my favorite scents of the season:
I always grab a jar each time they come out at Target...
Also, pulling out our fall books is such a treat!  No matter how old the kids have been, they get so nostalgic seeing the books put out each year!
And of course, shopping at Trader Joe's right now has us getting all the fun seasonal stuff and this is where we always start:
As it gets closer, we will add big pumpkins and put more decorations outside for trick-or-treaters...
We love that fall is here, even is the squelching weather doesn't feel like it...❤︎

snuggle bunnies

 These bunnies bring so much joy to our hearts...
I was sick over the weekend and this little much kept me company...
Then Baby girl joined our movie night...

We love having our bunnies!

He's back!

 They had a wonderful time on their back packing and hunting trip!

There was disappointment in not getting an elk with their bows, but the experience together always trumps all of that!  Each trip they learn more and we know that their year is coming...

fractures and swabs...

 At Ryder's game on Saturday, September 11, a ball that was kicked at close range hit his hand and caused a fracture.  Initially, I thought that it was just a sprain, but when he woke up on Sunday, it was pretty painful.  So we headed to the urgent care and x-rays confirmed that his right wrist was fractured.  We were at urgent care for almost 2 hours waiting for the radiologist to read our images...

Then on Tuesday the 14th, we were able to see the orthopedist.  We are to lay low for 3 weeks from intense scrimmages and physical education.  He is to wear is new brace for the next 6 weeks as it continues to heal...
He is a happy camper and I am so happy that he is on the mend!  He was SO happy to be able to practice!
I am reminded each and every time we have appointments like these how thankful and grateful we are for how healthy our family is.  It is a gift that we don't ever want to take for granted!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, Eden had a high risk interaction with a covid positive kiddo.  She woke up on Sunday the 12th with a runny nose and mild cough.  So in the midst of all that was happening with Ryder, we also got our little miss swabbed and we were so happy to report that she was negative...
We are getting through all of it!
A new recipe favorite...
 I have been trying to come up with different recipes for the crockpot that we can have on game days or soccer practice days.  I primarily get them from Pinterest.  I recently tried one that we all loved. Here is the the link.
We served it with rice pilaf and the kids LOVED it!
(One kiddo was at practice but when he got home, he really enjoyed it too!)
The only change i made to the recipe was tripling that salt and doubling the pepper and cinnamon.  It was so good!
