The last time that I worked, I was running late and I got this photo from Eden:

I am still loving my job, even on the hardest day...❤︎
~~~~~~~~~~~
Also Eden found a picture that she had drawn around the age of 6 and we couldn't stop laughing.  The teeth, the bangs, the eyelashes... She sent me that photo too...
It was so sweet!
We serve at the pleasure of the {ASB} president
Ryder was voted in as the ASB President!
We both cried when he told us...
His speech:
We are so proud of our kid!  It was also so special to have Eden there to relay to us how much he killed it!
sharing the stomping grounds
One of Ryder's games this weekend was near our first house and close to where we went to college.  Two fun things that we got to see:
The Applebees where we had our first date: (We because we were fancy as freshmen in college...❤︎)
Then we grabbed dinner at George's burgers, which was located right around the corner from our old house.  We LOVED the owner and she would always give me extra fries when I was pregnant.  She loves Jesus and I almost cried when I walked in and saw her.
The place hasn't changed and it was fun to take the kids there and remember how, in some ways, our lives were so simple back then and what it was like when they were little...
You get a soccer player, and you get a soccer player...
Eden recently started her Fall season for U12 in AYSO.  She is SO excited! She is on a team with some of her closest friends and she has really grown as a player.  We are excited for this new season!
We had the sweetest guests with us!
She is the best!
We also got to watch Ryder’s games for his tournament!
So fun!
We love our soccer players!
New glasses!
We got to see our absolute FAVORITE optometrist last week for Eden's annual eye exam and glasses update.  We love our Dr. Nishimoto!
Eden got to pick out the CUTEST glasses... Seriously, she is the CUTEST!
a first for me…
 I made biscuits from scratch for the first time! It only took me 43 years…❤️
I got the recipe from Magnolia Table and the family LOVED them!
(Butter and honey was the favorite topping...❤︎)
sunsets
 As I left work last Saturday, this was the sunset that was waiting for me as I walked to my car:
It was a sweet end to a very busy shift...
While the kids are in school...
Little snap shots of time while the kids are at school:
Closets:
Lots of drop offs!
I have spent time here in our little town...
Making fun lunches is a treat too!
Being in my yard is so life giving for me...
With school starting, we are figuring out our new routines.  The kids LOVE their teachers and classes and being with their friends.  Eden is not excited about math, but overall, there are no classes that the kids aren't looking forward to, which is a huge gift!  Knowing that they are having such a positive experience at school is such a gift for us! The quiet time of these days has been so sweet...
A weekend with Hilary...
We had a full weekend!
Ryder had a soccer tournament this last weekend.  On Saturday they got to play two games, they won one and lost one.  Ryder played REALLY well and is having so much fun experiencing all the things!
Eden got to help with goalie training for a friends U10 team. Then she got to see Meg 2 with our friends and had the BEST TIME!
I was at work on Saturday for a CRAZY busy shift:
The next day was cancelled because of Hurricane Hilary.  We have never had a tropical storm that involved a hurricane in our neck of the woods.
It felt pretty mild and we were so thankful!
The rest of the weekend was spent at church and then staying inside.
So thankful for safety and family time.❤️
Prayers answered...
 We are so thrilled that Eden has made such a close bestie and that they have gotten to be in school together since 2nd grade.  It was such a joy to know that they were going to the same middle school and then they found out that they were both in ASB (with Ryder and all of his buddies...) and THEN, they have 5 out of their 7 periods together!  Watching them walk in together made our hearts so FULL!  When the kids came home they were all OVER THE MOON with how great their day was. Ryder was also lucky enough to have all of his buddies in his classes and could not stop telling me how much fun that was!
My heart is so full and prayers are already being answered...
They are off and running!
 We officially have two middle schoolers!  Yesterday was their first day of school and I am so excited for all that this year holds.  I  love that they are back at school together!
It is going to be an amazing year!
Back to School dinner 2023
Monday night we had our Back to School dinner.  It's a time for us to pause and look with anticipation to the year ahead, pray for our teachers, faculty, fellow classmates, and school district.  We choose a verse that we hold as an anchor for the year.  This year's verse:
Psalm 117:2~
For his unfailing love for us is powerful;
the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
NLT
Time and time again we have seen his faithfulness, through the instructors and teachers they have had, the friendships that have been formed, and the growth we have seen develop...  We feel his presence go before our kids.  He is ALWAYS faithful and his love is POWERFUL!
We pray over our kids and we share a meal.  It all means so much to us.  We have done it every year since Ryder was in Preschool...
I can't believe that we are at the start of a new school year!  I think it will be such a sweet one with the kids being at the same school and having ASB together...  I already feel a joy coming and an excited anticipation of it all from both of the kids.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today is their first day of school.  Yesterday Eden had her new student orientation... My goodness, I love that I can step into each year with such confidence that my kids go with Jesus...  I am trying to be present and capture it all!

Biola weekend 2023

Over the weekend we were able to spend 48 hours with our close Biola family in Lake Arrowhead. It was so good for our hearts to be together! We took walks, played games, went to the lake, ate tons of good food, and laughed like CRAZY!

We have clocked so much life together over the last 25 years!
We also got to witness Ethan get baptized...

Such beautiful moments together!  We love these people so much!
