Kuiu for the WIN!

Ryder and Kit always go on a backpacking trip this time of year for Ryder's birthday. All things have been cancelled and things have been switched to planning for future trips...
Ryder got matching camping clothes for his birthday, just like his dad's.  They came late but oh my gosh, so worth the wait!
These two can't wait to get out there on their next adventure!

Inviting Him in...

When the kids were in school, I would always be on drop off and I would pray for their day.  I would pray for their teachers, for wisdom and patience and for understanding for the kids when something was hard.  That they would know they are loved and supported and seen and that they would be surrounded by friends that encourage them and that my kids would put Jesus on display and always know His voice...
We had been doing this distance learning thing for a few weeks and realized that I hadn't;t been praying.  I was irritated and frustrated with technology.  I felt like I had no patience and was supposed to be excellent at something that was WAY out of my gifting...
So Eden and I prayed.  We invited Him into our learning time, realizing that we are doing our best and that there is grace...
GAME. CHANGER.
I mean, we have been laughing about if I'm her teacher next year, she would probably ask for a transfer... Those jokes just never get old...❤︎

new hobbies we all get to benefit from...

Kit has started making bread.  He was given a started from our friend Jamie and he has been loving it!
I can really get behind hobbies like this.  Like when he really got into BBQing and salsa making... Yah, these are hobbies I am in FULL support of...

We are missing our church family and being together...
We can't wait to be together again!

family adventures

We had a little adventure off in Santiago Canyon...
Very, very needed...
We didn't go all the way to the Falls, but the walk along the creek was beautiful...
These moments were so special as a family...
Over the last month or so, I have fallen in love with this family of mine in a whole new and beautiful way.  I don' want to forget what this time has afforded us.  My heart is grateful.

quarantine decorating...

I'm not really one to make changes in our house, but it's funny how when you look at your walls day after day after day, sometimes even the smallest change feels so BIG!
This TINY nook by our fireplace got some love:
Here is the before:
I removed everything, put the game basket with our other games, and took out the chair.
I just distressed the edges of this piece.
I found it on the curb a few years back and it is such great storage, but the wood was rough so painting it was the best option...
Then I pulled some frames that I had and added a plant.  Here is the finished area:
It's funny, but because I don't change things very often, it feels like we made such huge change to the space.  It's amazing how being in your space day after day can make you look at your space differently, isn't it?
The whole room...
It's the room where we talk about our day and watch the kids play.   I am so thankful for this house and that we get to spend our days here...❤︎

How does your garden grow...?

Happy Earth Day!
We found out that Armstrong allows you to by your plants online and then drive through to pick them up.  We were so excited to be able to get our garden going in the middle of this pandemic...
Tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini are what we started with.
Our chickens have been laying 3 eggs for us each day and our orange tree is giving us some amazing juice:
It's fun to get to have the things growing!

donating

I got to donate blood the other day.  Rockharbor hosted a site for the Red Cross to come and it felt so good to be part of helping with a need!
Always wearing my mask from my friend trenna!
It reminds you that we are in this together!

it looks different right now...

ANYONE on a church staff will tell you that church just looks different right now.  How you connect, worship, teach, and pastor your families ministries is all a new experience through a screen...
Here is wha tit looks like for Kit to teach, on video, while socially distancing:
But we are creating such sweet moments on these Sunday mornings:
We took communion with tortillas and apple juice.
I think this was the first time we took communion as a family...
I love that there is connection, even when we aren't physically together!

I can't wait to come back together and be with our church family again!

scavenger hunts from sweet friends

Our sweet friends created an Easter scavenger hunt for the kids.  Since I was working on Easter,  We did it a few days after and the kids loved it!
How amazing are our Colman's?
I hid all the eggs and they took turns reading the clues once they found them.
They each got spoiled with a gift card and dum dums!
Thank you so much sweet friends for loving on us!  It was such a treat and we felt so spoiled!

Covid-19

I took are of my first Covid-19 PUI case.
The day started with anxiety, but I witnessed first hand what it was to lay it all at the feet of Jesus, allowing Him to lift my head, and watch Him turn those "graves in to gardens."  It has been such an honor to be a nurse for almost 17 years.  I have had the privilege to be part of many life changing moments for people and there is a deep satisfaction that I'm in the job that I was created to do.

Also, when I came home, Kit had set up a station for me leave all the germs in the washing machine...
complete with a Moscow Mule... I married up!
