Saturday morning, on his exact 2 1/2 birthday, Ryder crawled out of his crib. He has been crawling out of his pack and play for about 2 months now when we have been on trips, but never has he figured out how to do it from his crib.
So guess who got a big kid bed.
After taking down Eden's crib:

The transition has been AMAZING!
We have had three nights and three nap times and he has slept perfectly fine. He has stayed in his bed until it was time to get up. (He still calls for us in the morning and after nap time and he gets up when we come in and get him.) All this to say: I think the transition is going so well because he was ready.
We tried right before we had Eden and he wasn't ready and he kept coming out and would not stay in his room. This time around, he is so much more relaxed and I can tell that he was ready for the change. We are so proud of our big kid!
