parenting a toddler

I am not going to lie: raising a toddler is tough.
The discipline, the melt downs, and battles for control.  They want to be independent, and yet are so incredibly dependent on you at the same time...
I have felt incredibly frustrated and discouraged.
I want to be with him when he is at his worst, yet give him space that he sometimes needs.
As Kit and I are navigating this season, we continue to bring it to the Lord.
We want to be in tune to what the Lord is doing in our kids lives, as well as what he is doing in our own.  There is so much peace knowing that we are not doing this alone.
There is nothing like parenthood to get you on your knees.
All that being said:
I get these really precious moments of cuddles and laughter.
The "i wuv u mama" that comes out of no where.
The please and thank you's that aren't prompted.
The hand holding while we sit on our bed and wait for Kit to get home.
Reading together in our big leather chair or watching Toy Story while snuggle on our couch.
The prayers that he says before bed or at meal times.
These are such blessings to me as a mom.
And these are the moments that make being a mom the BEST job in the whole world.
