This last Saturday, our library hosted the author of "The One and Only Ivan", Katherine Applegate. "The One and Only Ivan" is one of Eden's favorite books and she was so looking forward to going with her close buddies to meet her and hear her talk about her new book. What we had not planned on was how many other people were also looking forward to meeting her and how packed it all would be...
She talked about writing and was incredibly inspiring about how you can write about anything you want and that people will want to hear your stories. She talked bout how she had thrown the one and only Ivan away and then came back to it. I am so glad she did!
The room was packed and we were in the second session.
She was so sweet and warm that the girls were dying to meet her. So we waited in the worlds LONGEST line ever...
After almost 3 hours, we got to meet her, and get our books signed and it was worth it...
It was such a sweet experience for Eden to not only meet her first author, but that is was the one that wrote one of her favorite books...❤︎
