I wanted to change it up…

We have this one skinny wall on our dining room/family room, and I just thought it needed a little change.

I had two embroidery pieces that I had done that I love. So I decided to frame them. I found frames and had mattes cut at the craft store:

The finished product makes my heart so happy!

Futbol is life...

Ryder requested to be the Chelsea emblem for halloween. So here's how it started: An old hula hoop and two dollars worth of poster board from the 99cent store.

And after time with a projector and some tape and paint...

Cutting down the hula hoop for the outer "Stitching"...
Eden was the best helper and the MVP for sure!
...I can't wait to show you the finished product!

Grandpa would be so pleased...

In the Rae house, we have a love of Stag horn ferns that came from our Grandpa Pierce.  Kit has clippings of ferns that have come from his grandparents home and recently experimented with some new ways to plant them.

He made chicken wire spheres and filled them with moss:

Then we took a wooden box that Grandpa had made and used it as an upright planter:

I know that Grandpa Pierce would be so pleased!

Winter Garden Projects

This last weekend we ripped out our tomatoes and planted our winter garden. It went from this:

To this:
I spent a morning using my burning gun to make vegetable markers for the garden out of wooden stakes that Kit didn't need anymore...
(I also used it to put initials on Kit's camping axe, which is why it is in the picture:)
Spacing and double checking my spelling...
Then getting them all set up where they go...

tiny electricians

Before He left for his trip, Kit showed Ryder how to string the lights for our pergola.  I kept calling him my electrician.

Ryder did an amazing job...

We love this space so much!

My little decorator...

Eden has been asking for a little update to her room.  The knobs on her vintage dresser have been spinning and making it hard to open the drawers.  She wanted to bedding that was plain white. She wanted the paintings that belonged to her great-grandma to hang in her room.  She had fu picking things out and making all the little decisions.

Here is the before:

We took down frames, and filled in holes and repainted.  We repainted the bed frame.  She wiuld help tell us where she wanted things to go...
Her finished product:
I love every detail...
They are finally up in a spot where they can be enjoyed!
This room feels like it's her but it also feels so grown up!
I'm proud of her making her space her own.
