local exploring!

The other day, Eden and I checked out the Katie Wheeler library that is located in the center of the Irvine Ranch Historic Park.  It was built to resemble the home of the Irvine family in 1900.  It is surrounded by buildings and barns and small foreman's houses, all built in the late 1800's to early 1900's.  Minus the signage, it really felt like we stepped back in time!
The entire top floor is children's books for all ages:
We camped out in a section of picture books and read a stack of sweet books, some old favorites, some for the first time.
Then we explored the grounds:
We sat in the gazebo and talked for a bit about what it would be like to be a princess and walk around out side all the time with a large poofy dress...
After a full morning of exploring the barn and the library and the old buildings and reading books,
we headed for tacos:
It really was such a sweet morning together! I found myself realizing how quickly it will be that she is in school and working around her little schedule... Right now, it was so nice to just be us and have some fun just exploring together and enjoying that we get to do whatever we want.  My goodness, I love this little girl!❤︎
