Flubber

We made flubber today to go with a talk that my sister and I are doing on friday. This is great for kids that are a little bit older and that aren't obsessed with putting things in their mouths.
aka not a project for Ryder, however it is really fun to make and play with.

Here is the recipe:

2c Elmers glue
1 1/2 c room temp. water
1 c hot/warm water
5T Borax cleaner
liquid food coloring of your choice

mix the glue and room temp water in a large bowl. Add color and stir. Dissolve Borax in the hot/warm water. Stir well. Slowly and only a little bit at a time, pour the Borax mixture into the glue mixture. (keep stirring the Borax so it remains dissolved). Watch it coagulate, stirring slowly. Keep stirring or mix with hands until most of the liquids are absorbed. Discard remaining liquid. Store in a ziploc or airtight container. Avoid contact with clothes. If it does come in contact with clothes, use a mixture of white vinegar and cold water immediately and then wash them.

I hope that you have a chance to try this out. It is really fun, fast and easy...
