Every fifth grade class in our district has a night where a healthcare professional comes to discuss puberty and changing bodies. They separate out the girls and the boys and the goal is to have parental involvement in the discussion, as well as a safe environment to have open conversations in a safe place with mature adults. It is optional to attend. Last night was Eden's.
It was a pajama and pizza party so this was as close as we could come to matching:
We even did our hair the same:
Friends are the best:
And are also very silly:
I love time with my girl!We have had ALL the discussions with Eden. We believe that it is our job as parents to head up those topics and they have all gone really well. We are open to answer any question that they ask. It was sweet to see she and her friends take in information together, even if they already knew it. It makes it feel less scary when you are all in it together... It was nice to be there with her friends and their moms who are also my friends. Also, I can't believe that she will be in middle school next year!!!
Did I mention they gave each girly an emergency bag to have with them? Eden was VERY excited about the travel deodorant... We couldn't stop laughing about it!
