We're back! (Holiday recap part 1)

Hi friends! It has been such a long time... How was your Christmas and new year?  We have been gone most of the last two weeks and are settling into finally being home!  We have been taking down Christmas decorations and writing thank you notes and cleaning out closets and organizing new toys.  We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on the 4th of January and we have been making exciting plans for this year.
So here are a few highlights that we have had these last few weeks!
We were able to go to our Christmas eve service at church:
We were able to go as a family and that was so special to me!
Eden stayed in her class the entire time!
Also, on Christmas eve she turned 10 months:
Getting the kids ready in their Sunday best:
Kit's family was in town for my brother-in-laws graduation and so I got some extra family time on Christmas eve while Kit was working.  It was so fun for the kids and I!
Then we got to have our little family time on Christmas morning at our house before we headed out to be with my family in Redlands:
The presents this year were Tonka trucks for Ryder, Pixar bath toys for both kids, and we added to Eden's book collection.  This year we gave her an illustrated copy of Pippi Longstocking.  Kit got a camera tripod and I got Hunter boots.  I am so excited!
Then we headed off to be with family in Redlands:
There was lots of toys and laughter and good food and movies and games.
The food is always amazing!  Thanks guys for always planning such an amazing menu!
Ryder got a Nerf gun like his cousins and has so far NOT shot his sister.  He also got a fire house that has cars and pieces that he absolutely LOVES playing with!
This was the first Christmas where Ryder was really aware of gifts and opening presents, so we really tried to have Ryder say thank you and acknowledge the gift giver.  He did a pretty good job, but we will still working on it.  We so desire him to have a thankful heart and a generous and selfless nature.
(Did we mention that he is 2 1/2 years old...)
We had such a great time being with family and WE love every chance we get to be together.  We love that we are able to have both of our families close so that we are able to be together for these special moments...
I can't wait to share more about our travels tomorrow!
