Seven Year Old Celebrations!

Over the last few days, we have been enjoying our time together, celebrating that our Ryder Pierce Rae is SEVEN YEARS OLD!
(Today is also our first day of spring break!)
On his actual birthday, we did our traditional doughnuts and birthday plate tradition:
At school, they sang to him and he handed out the goody bags we had made and his carpool buddy gave him a birthday present of fun outdoor games!
We put a special note in his lunch box and at the end of the day, he said he felt VERY celebrated!
As soon as he got home from school, we loaded up to go get ice cream:
We played out side, went on a nature walk in our neighborhood and then we headed home to get dinner ready:
Kit came home and read to him while we waited for the BBQ to be ready:
Ryder requested steak for dinner.  We pulled out our chalkboard placemats that we use for special occasions:
That night, he picked what he wanted for dinner and he requested that Kit BBQ steak.
He was a fan:
A family tradition for us is that on special events, we go around and affirm and encourage the person on their "special day"... It is always so sweet!
A few months ago, when we asked Ryder what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted to go on a camping trip, just he and his dad.  I can't tell you how sweet he was about it! (And I have never been less offended to NOT be invited to something...❤︎)
So we went with a little camping theme with his birthday:
The card we made as a "coupon" for his camping trip:
His very own official back pack:
He got his own camping food utensil and his back pack was picked out especially for him by his dad.
He lost his mind when he opened it...
They are ridiculously excited about their upcoming trip!
And he got a mini nano drone from Eden...
He ended the evening face timing family:
He came down for school the next day wearing his pack...
 ...and spoon...
The beautiful thing about the day after his birthday was that it was the Friday before Spring Break, which meant the day was filled with going to the school library, recess, parties, and pretty much all FUN projects.  Our teacher is the best! The day ended with a snow cone party and Kit was there to help:
I was at Eden school while she had her egg hunt and Easter party:
That evening, we headed to one of our favorite Mexican food spots:
Which ended with having servers sing to him and bring him fried ice cream:
We ended our Friday night snuggled on the couch to watch the old Disney Movie "The Love Bug" and then the kids slept on our floor for a "slumber party"...
I can't believe this boy is SEVEN!
We are excited for this week, not only to prepare for Easter, but to have some time off from our regular schedules and just spend time together!
