fourth of July recap...

In our old house in Fullerton, fourth of July was a really big deal.  We blocked off the street, had a little parade and block party with tons of games and food and we always lit a ton of fireworks to end the night.  Minus our neighbors, I knew the fourth would be one of the things I missed the  most with our move.  So we had promised neighbors that we would be back to celebrate the fourth with them.  The plan had been to head up to Fullerton fairly early in the day and stay until the fireworks at night and to be with our old friends and neighbors.  Well, as luck would have it, our new neighborhood closes down it's streets for a parade and carnival in our local park, so we weren't able to get out.  So we figured we didn't want to just sit and miss out on the fun, so we headed over to watch the festivities.
Here are a few glimpses of our new neighborhood's parade:
Each float would stop and throw candy so we would let Ryder go when we knew it was safe.
He was so excited!  Eden was a laffy taffy mess!
We ran onto some close friends:
And the kids scored a gallon size bag of candy:
Our carnival:
We didn't stay at the carnival since our friends were waiting for us, but we sure are excited about what our little neighborhood puts together every year!
Then we headed up to our old neighborhood:
Face painting with Maria was first on the list:
Then it was onto the water slide bouncy house:
Eden went down first and then Ryder was right behind.
Lots of food was consumed:
 Especially by this one...
Then we settled in to watch fire works:
(ear plugs for the win!)
I was finally able to meet the new owner of our old house and she could not have been sweeter!    She had tons of people over and it was fun to see that she was using the house for her friends and family.
The day was such a blessing on so many levels and Kit and I can only praise the Lord for all that he has done!  What a wonderful day!
