Star Wars in a very Stars Hallow way...

Our housing community is always putting on things for the residents to participate in.  From a huge fourth of July carnival to tea parties with Disney princesses to movie nights and picnics and everything in between. It is such a fun, family place to live!  Recently they have been going through the Star Wars movies I-VI leading up to the new one coming out in December.   Ryder and I decided to make a date of the most recent showing!

 The sweetest part was that it reminded me of something you would see in Stars Hallow:

 Costco folding chairs, tons of popcorn and bins of red vines.  

Ryder was in heaven!

 We had the best time together and we are excited for our next community adventure!

This last Friday I had the best time volunteering in Ryder's class. I love his teacher and have had so much fun getting to know the kids and parents from his class, so it was so fun to see it all come together in his actual classroom time.

 I assembled an upcoming craft project they will be doing...

 And since Friday's are Library days, I got to watch reading time and help the kiddos pick their book to take home. 

I watched the kids at recess and I talked with the teachers and parent teacher aides and felt so connected to our school community.   I feel so honored to be part of this school and this education experience for our kiddos.  Life is good!  I can't wait to help out again!

The other day, I came around the corner to see Ryder showing Eden what school is like.  Everything from lining up, to putting her bag down and how she has to listen and keep her hands to herself and then telling her it was time to pick books in the "library", and that they could go play in the playroom for "recess."  At the end of their play time, he told her it was time to go home and "find your mom in the pick up line..."

It was so sweet! 

I love that he will be able to show her the ropes!

After I had "picked them up", Ryder kept telling Eden how much she is going to love school... She can't wait!

It's a boy...

The "hen" that we had turned out to be a rooster.  Yep, while Kit was out of town on his over night with Ryder, this thing started crowing!

We found this really sweet feed and tack store that has connections with local farms that could take him.  So the day we dropped the rooster off, we ended up taking these little munches home:

He is so excited to have chicks again!

Eden, on the other hand, is taking her time to warm up...

Celebrating our nephew!

This last Sunday we celebrated our nephew Max's 10th birthday.  I swear, he was just born.  I just can't believe it!

 There was a gaming van that came and Ryder had so much fun playing football with our friend Lisa!

 There was a taco lady and it was awesome!

 We had a blast!

the mermaid and the fisherman...

This Halloween, the kiddos decided to be a fisherman and a mermaid.  After Ryder's exciting summer of catching his first fish, he knew that was what he has wanted to be.  Eden wanted to be a mermaid and so we borrowed a costume from my precious niece to make Eden a happy camper.  Ruby you are the best!

I made Ryder's fisherman's vest with felt that I had from another sewing project and buttons from my remnants...

 Good thing I have a helper who keeps me company!

 This is our neighbor Jackie wearing the Snoopy costume and that is her brother Joey.  We love these two so much!

Then it was time to head home, eat dinner, and start our trick-or-treating!

Our house smelled like our favorite chili and and we had so much fun getting ready for the night!

I got to put glitter makeup and special gloss on Eden!  She had a hard time not smiling! 

It was a special night and I am so thankful that we get to create these special memories and have these incredible traditions!

The friday before Halloween, Ryder didn't have school, so we capitalized on getting a full family day.  We decided to carve our pumpkins later this year since last year they went completely moldy before one trick-or-treater ever got to our doorstep.  We had a really fun time!

Fun traditions and sweet memories are what make this my favorite time of year!
