meal times...

I think that Ryder takes after his parent's in that he is always so happy to be eating. This usually means that he is sitting in his high chair. I will usually put music on as we eat our meals, everything from classical playlists to U2 and the Black Eyed Peas. He is such an easy going little guy, and any one who knows me, knows that Ryder gets that character trait from his DAD...
I had to share a photo that I snapped on my phone that just seems to capture my little guy. He has two teeth on the bottom and top, and he does this laugh where he wrinkles his nose and puts his head back and laughs...
He is just so tickled by the simplest thing... I have to say that I watch him and his little personality and I realize that he is someone that I want to be around. I not only love my baby, but I really like him too! I am thankful for that, because we are together quite a bit.
Little man~
I just could not love you more! I am so thankful that you are my kid. I wouldn't want anyone else...

Valentines Day Recap...

We had a great valentine's day yesterday. Kit got home a tiny bit early with some beautiful flowers and we made our valentine's day traditional meal of king crab legs. We made shrimp and cheddar biscuits to go with it, with a tasty salad and we topped off the meal with my home made apple crisp and a game of bananagrams once the little man was in bed. It was a beautiful evening together...
My little valentine who is just getting bigger and bigger...
The best garlic shrimp ever!
Flowers!
This is one of our favorite traditions. We have done it the last 4 or 5 years and we plan to keep doing it as each valentines day comes around because it is always such a treat...
I hope that you had a wonderful day being with your loved ones!
Kit Rae~
Thank you for being my valentine every year... You are my best friend and I am so thankful to have you in my life. I love the home that you have created for us and I love that you are a man of character and conviction as you lead our family in so many ways. I admire you so...You are by far my favorite person ever! Thank you for living life with me...

Note:
For the record, because I am a big enough person to admit defeat... Kit beat me on our first game of bananagrams... my apple crisp was definitely served with a side of humble pie!

great ideas...

Kit's mom has gotten me my subscription to Real Simple for the last few Christmases and I just love every time it comes in the mail. There are always fun recipes to try, new uses for old things, gadgets that make life easier, ways to correctly apply eye shadow (I keep trying, but the smokey eye just looks like a hot mess when I try it...), and new books to read, as well as inspiring stories.
I found a deal on a two year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens and I have to say that I have been getting some really fun ideas out of them.
I'm excited to try some of the projects that I found in this article... Oh gosh, valentines day came up quickly didn't it?

marriage conference

We will be at this marriage conference at our church. We are really excited about it! We will be attending the conference with our close friends which will make the conference an even richer experience too!
Ryder will be with my parents so knowing them, he won't even know we are gone...

Thanks mom and dad for watching the little man!

how much wood could a wood chuck chuck...

Well if that wood chuck's name was Ryder, he could chuck a whole crib! I guess that's life with a teether...

Thank goodness we sprung for the baby safe finish on our crib!

(But who could be mad at that face...)
