Spring Break 2016 at Shaver Lake

Ryder had his spring break last week.  Since he was out of school and baseball had been cancelled for the break, we decided to capitalize on the time off and head to Shaver Lake for a mini vacation.
It. Was. Glorious.
It's such a special place for us and we have loved watching the kiddos make such sweet memories there.  Here were just a few little highlights...
Celebrating our Ryder Pierce Rae's 6th birthday!
He got a lego set that he has REALLY wanted:
And they had the best time putting it together!
We explored around the pond by the cabin:
(And discovered a new creek trail!)

We had a picnic in a meadow that we had stopped in last summer and enjoyed some more exploring!
We watched this movie while eating that cake. Twice.
It was AWESOME!
We explored Dinky Creek:
We took side roads and stopped when we wanted and were on our very own time frame.
We ate at the Hungry Hut, a tradition for our family:
Kit and Ryder played catch in the front yard and we had lots of tea parties in the tee pee:

and we watched the sunset at the top of the lake:
Though it was only a few days, we had the best time and I am so thankful that we were able to get away for some family time!
And of course on the way home, we had to stop at our favorite road trip place:
It always delivers the BEST time!
