3 1/2 years old

We had a great weekend.  It was pretty low key, other than the weather.
(Do you remember the scene in the movie "The Holiday", where Jack Black's character tells Kate Winslet that the Santa Ana's mean "all bets are off and anything can happen" and then he gets an eyelash out of her eye?  Yah, anything can happen,  like allergies, bloody noses, chapped lips, and havoc in our yards.  The Santa Ana's are not magical, nope all bets ARE off.  Ok, enough of my complaining...)

My baby boy celebrated his half birthday yesterday.
My Ryder Pierce Rae is 3 1/2.
He is just such a big kid...
Ryder in a nut shell:
He is so funny and has the sweetest laugh.
He can be incredibly patient and loving and nurturing with Eden, which is so precious to see.
He has been fully potty trained since Labor Day weekend. Nights, naps, poos, pees,  the whole sha-bang!  He did amazing!
He loves to ride his bike and build guns with his big legos.
He loves watching the PBS shows "Wild Kratts", "Dinosaur Train", and "Super Why".
He loves to read books together on our bed.
His favorite meal is spaghetti and sausage.
He requests oatmeal EVERYDAY for breakfast.
He loves to swim with his cousins in Redlands and thinks that goggles are one of the best inventions ever!
He sings his alphabet song so clearly and thinks that the number 16 comes after 13.  He is convinced!
He loves to wrestle with his dad and can't wait to go with Kit on a hunting/camping trip.
When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, his answer is "Daddy."
He is kind, courageous, independent, and brave.  He is sensitive and fierce and incredibly relational.  He is such a gift of joy, even on his worst day.
Ryder Rae, we could not love you more and we are so proud to be your parents!
