Here are the books for the month of April:
I enjoyed the reminders and thoughts in this book. It has been recommended and it was a good read! In The Lifegiving Parent, the authors explored eight key principles—heartbeats of lifegiving parenting—to shed light on what it means to create a home where your children will experience the living God in your family. The authors have learned that the key to shaping a heart begins at home as you foster a deep and thoughtful God-infused relationship with each child and wanted to share what that can look like with their readers. Filled with biblical insight and personal stories, The Lifegiving Parent desires to equip you with the tools and wisdom you need to give your children much more than just a good Christian life. You’ll give them the life of Christ.

This book was recommended to me by my sweet sister in law. It’s a historical fiction about an army nurse in the Vietnam War. The main character, Frankie, is an amalgam of multiple real life nurses that the author had researched. It was POWERFUL! Kristen Hannah grew up with many of her friends dads serving in the war and what their return home was like. I thought it shed light on and brought awareness to our veterans who gave so much and experienced such hell fur our freedom. I don’t know very much about Vietnam so even the historical aspect was very enlightening. I would recommend it.

I really enjoy this author. This historical fiction book parallels a modern day playwright (Mel) with her female ancestor poet and playwright (Emilia) in the time of Shakespeare. The story plays on the conspiracy that Shakespeare did not write his own work and in this story it’s Emilia’s life experiences that she writes about then sells to Shakespeare while her modern day descendent Mel tries to get her play produced under another name. There was so much more to the story line, I know I’m not doing it justice. It had steamy scenes and some crass language but I enjoyed the story line.
