Shaver Lake at Christmas 2024

We got to take a quick trip to Shaver Lake to be with some of our family on Kit’s side and to have a chance for Kit to ski with the kids! (No, you will not see Gina on the slopes…)

Time for skiing!

Lots of time at the cabin!

We had such a wonderful time. We love our family so much!

December Books

Here are the books I read this month:

This historical fiction takes place in World War II. It’s the story of a Jewish family in Poland that escapes the Germans by living in the sewer, and then people that help them above ground. It had a wonderful twist at the end too. It was incredibly powerful and moving to read this story that represented real life stories. I’d strongly recommend it!

I have only read the book “My Sister’s Keeper” by this author and it was incredibly thought provoking. This one was recommended to me. It takes place sept d a daughter looking for her missing mother, all taking place in and around an elephant sanctuary. There is science mixed with mystery… She wrote from different characters perspectives and developed each so well! It was more of a mystery that unfolded with twists and some supernatural elements and I was completely blind-sided with a surprise ending that I did not see coming. I would recommend it!
This book had been recommended to me. It’s about a fictional character that navigates an up and coming actress in motion pictures from the 1950s to 2000s.  The author develops her character as well as all the other characters that come in
and out of her life. I’m not sure I would recommend it yo everyone. It has steamy scenes that can make people uncomfortable, as the main character climbs the ladder of fame and fortune. It was entertaining and I did enjoy the characters and the time frames and retro references. I did have a hard time putting it down, so maybe you’ll like it too.

Christmas Day 2024

We spent Christmas Day at home in the morning. Our kids are the sweetest, they make coffee and head up breakfast for us. It’s such a nice way to wake up on Christmas morning! I didn’t have to work and that in itself feels like it’s own gift… Snap shots of the morning:

Then we headed out to Redlands for the rest of the day to be with family.

It really was a sweet Christmas day!

Christmas Eve 2024

We had a beautiful Christmas Eve with our Rockharbor family and community. We served in the children’s ministry and ushers and greeters.

Kit hosted and Glenn taught.
The building was beautiful!
The candlelight is my favorite. Thank you Glenn for the family photo!

The music was incredible!
We loved the time so much… What a beautiful celebration of the birth of Jesus!
We headed home and ate Chinese food and watched the new Christmas movie “Red One” which the kids loved and Kit and I fell asleep…
Then the kids set stuff out for Santa then we got everything ready for Christmas morning!
