Tonight is our back to school night and tomorrow is our first day of school. I just can't believe it is here already! We had a special dinner for the kiddos to celebrate the new year!

When Kit and I got married, we chose a passage in Mark 12 to be our verse, along with the theme: Love Jesus. Love others.
We talked about loving Jesus with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We talked about the question of what does it look like to do your best in all that you do because of how you have been created and how you want to honor the Creator? We desire to give Him our best in ALL that we do.
We talked about how giving your best does not mean doing something perfectly or that He loves you the harder you WORK. Just giving Him our best because of who He is and how He loves us. We talked about being kind and loving people that are hard to love because He has asks us to do that. We want to put His love on display. The broken world needs more people to love the way Jesus loves.
We read and prayed their life verse of Zephaniah 3:17 over them and then Kit prayed for them, that God would always be with them, for their friends, their teachers, and that it would be a great year!
And then we ended with pie of their choice:
We feel ready for next week and all that is ahead with this school year.
I love this tradition. It was such a sweet night of unity, connections and togetherness. Oh how I love this family of mine!❤︎
