green thumbs!

 I pulled our first tomatoes, basil, and cilantro this week. 

I am so excited that I married someone with a green thumb!

a new (soccer) chapter

 On May 12, Ryder had his first practice with his new MLS next team. 

In honor of this new chapter, I wanted to commemorate that a couple of weeks ago, Ryder closed out the season with his old team and coach. We are so grateful for opportunities he’s had to grow!

Looking ahead, I’m so happy for him. He is over the moon for every opportunity that comes!

8th grade award ceremony

 Our Eden had her last middle school award ceremony yesterday. Kit is gone for a work trip so I got to celebrate double. 

It’s so fun to get to watch her acknowledged for her hard work with her friends too! She won awards for her achievements in advanced math in Algebra and she was celebrated with the ASB award for Leadership and celebrated her role as ASB President. We had to celebrate with Starbucks after school.

We are so proud of this girl!

Friday traditions

 On Fridays we drive the Huggs and have our date at The Parlor in Tustin.

 It’s probably my favorite tradition of the week.

our last one…

 On May 7, we had our last middle school open house for Eden. Our little ASB president and her team do an amazing job preparing for the night, especially with her bestie!

We celebrated the night with ice cream.

I can’t believe we are finished with middle school, end of the year open houses! Promotion is just around the corner!

Another retreat in the books!

 Last week our church staff had their annual retreat. Kit plans it and puts so much energy into it for the staff. He loves sending me update photos.

Tuesdays

Goalie training is one of Eden’s favorite soccer practices. 

We’ve been with our Coach Jeff for about 3 years and we love that he is the Slammer’s goalie coach! 

She is learning and growing every day!

Mother’s Day 2026

Mother’s Day was very sweet. I woke up to gifts and the sweetest messages.

We served in children’s ministry together.

We grabbed lunch at Taco Mesa.

We headed home for naps and down time with bunny snuggles. 

Then dinner of take out ramen. What a gift to be these kids mom! Motherhood reminds me daily of God’s goodness, even in the hardest moments…

 These two have locked in for their next soccer season! Ryder has signed with Strikers MLS2/U17 and Eden has signed with Slammers ECNL/RL 2012/U15. These kids are amazing, on and off the field.

getting a date

 Kit and I got a date while Eden practiced and it was SO nice to connect and talk and catch up. We have been you going in different directions and we have been missing each other… 

Dates with my Kit really are the best!

100

 On Monday, my grandma, who we call Nana, turned 100 years old. My Aunt Barbie and Uncle Dave came out to celebrate and we got such sweet family time! The night before, we had dinner and just talked, then on Monday, her actual birthday we got to be with her:

She looked great and was have a really good day remembering family names and faces.  She kept saying she was 80 not 100. 

I went to connect with her and she read my name Gina Rae, and asked if Rae was my last name. I told her it was and she asked if I was happy with it. I told her I was because it went with a great man. She thought that was so nice. It was sweet to be together!
