happy valentines day!

From our home to yours...
May it be a day that you get to celebrate the people that you love in your life!

the happiest place on earth (again...)

We went to Disneyland yesterday.  It was just so fun!  It's nice to be out of the house and have so much for the kids to do and I love how much it tuckers everyone out for naps!
We started with the Astro Blasters:
(Getting instructions from Buzz is so exciting!)
 We headed to the castle to check out the ducks:
Then we headed to California adventure where we rode the Little Mermaid twice (the bubbles are the FAVORITE part).  We then went on Monsters Inc and Bugsland and then ended in Radiator Springs where we rode Luigi's House of Tires:
 And we saw some "friends" along the way!
 Trying to get an action shot is tricky...
It was such a great day and we all went home and napped!

happy

Have you seen this movie?
My sister recommended it to me.  It's inspiring and insightful and I would encourage you to check it out.
The perspective is beautiful...
Kit and I loved talking about it so maybe watching with a friend would lead to some fun conversations...

family time!

Yesterday we headed out to Redlands to be with our family for the day.  It was so fun!
We went to the park:
Ryder pushed his sister for almost 20 minutes.
It was so sweet!
 Then we headed to my sister's house:
 The kids played with walkie talkies, jumped on the trampoline and played for hours together!
My sister and I had so much fun spending time together:
 She made home made bread and my dad made pasta and meatballs.
It was so good!
 The day ended with shaving cream and a bath!
It was such a wonderful day of being with our family!
We can't wait to do it again very soon!
We love you Rosies♥!

sickies

Since the kiddos were getting over their runny noses and coughs on Sunday, we stayed home from going to our church.  I HATE missing it...  So does Ryder.
So here is what our sunday morning consisted of before Kit got home from work:
Doing every puzzle that we own:
 Our church has a "pre-teach" for the upcoming weekend for parents to do with their kiddos:
(I love our church... and I love TRU!)
 And of course, some iPad time:
 Here is hoping for a great new week!
We are off to visit our family in Redlands!

in good hands

The kids have had little runny noses which has also meant some coughs at night.
So here is where we have been spending the majority of our time:
A large stack of books, our favorite music playing and all of our cozy blankets for snuggling...
Yesterday, Ryder was bilking it for all it was worth, so his sister decided to take charge of his care:
She cooked for him:
 Made sure she herself was healthy enough to care for him:
 Then made sure his vital signs were all ok.
(Apparently, bowel sounds were really important to this little care giver...)
It's good to know that Ryder is in such good hands♥.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Our hope is to finish a special project for the kiddos and to work on some valentines day projects...

creating: checking off projects around the house

I have been wanting to tackle a few tiny projects for awhile now, and this last week I finally got around to them.  I have a few projects that I have been using to bring green into our living room, like here and here, and here.  We had this basket at the end of our couch and Eden has been using it as a stool to stand on.  I felt like it looked  a little out of place, so we fixed it right up:
Before:
After:

 (I know, the grainiest pictures ever, and it doesn't help that I can't get people to stand still and Wallace and Grommit was on so no one wanted to be in the photo. Oh well...)
It's funny how easy and fast this project was and what a difference it feels like it made.
~~~~~~~~~~
The next project is going to sound like I'm trying to get live at Downton Abbey:  I cleaned my silver trays.
I know, of all the things to do with my time, but I thrifted these babies for under 5 bucks at a garage sale (for both) and a few times for showers I have gone to pull them out and realized that they are so tarnished, I would go with something else.
 Thanks to Pinterest, I got the recipe to clean them:
1. line my sink with foil.
2. combine 1/2 cup salt with 1/2 cup baking soda
3. fill the sink with HOT water
4. let sit for 30 minutes
I was a little skeptical...
Here are the finished products:
I am so excited for the next time I want to use them and I know how to clean them in the future!
~~~~~~~~~~
Then the final project: organizing our family scrapbooks.
I really want to have our photos out where we can access them easily and have an organized system.
Here is is:

It was nice to check those little projects off the list!
I'm off to work on a secret project for the kiddos...
I can't wait to show it to you!
