His School Basketball Tournament

This weekend Ryder played in his school's third grade basketball tournament and had THE BEST TIME!
They played on Saturday and Sunday and had so much fun together...
His teacher came to watch them play and that was such a highlight for Ryder!
They made it to the semi-finals and played their little hearts out.
Ryder told us after his games. "I had a goal to make one basket each game.  I told myself, 'Ryder, you've never played before , one would be a great goal. Just do your best!''
Also, he had the sweetest little cheer squad:
They all enjoyed playing with each other so much! Ryder is already looking forward to when they get to do it again!❤︎

Her First Field Trip a.k.a. A Change Of Plans...

On Wednesday, we were scheduled to go to the Shipley Science Center for a first grade field trip. I had been picked as one of two parents to be the chaperone for her class.
And then the rain forced it to be postponed.
Eden and I were SO bummed!
What the first graders ended up doing was rotating through different activities in each of the 4 first grade teachers class rooms.
I was able to be in Eden's class to help with a craft project.
She was so excited to have me there and it was so fun to be with all of the kids in her class.
The project was a leprechaun:
The other room mom and I made the example and we were very proud of ourselves!
But Eden's was so much sweeter:
(The way she glued his legs on makes him look like he is dancing:)
Watching this girl is the absolute best!
The official field trip with be rescheduled and we are excited to go together!

A week of playing two sports...

This week Ryder joined his school's third grade basketball team for an elementary school tournament.  He's in the blue shirt and gray shorts and Kevin Durant socks...❤︎
We have never played more than one sport at a time and he is loving every second of it.❤︎

It's tooth fairy time...

To date, Eden has lost 5 teeth and she was yet to have a visit by the tooth fairy.  Recently at school she lost two bottom teeth and came home VERY excited to make her tooth pocket for the tooth fairy.
Pictures sent from her teacher:
A few years back, I had made the white felt tooth pocket when I made Ryder's and had the wooden E ready for her to paint, but it was only this last weekend that we finally made it all happen.
We finally finished it after it was able to dry and we put a clear coat on it:
She wanted the spelling to be perfect so we spelled each word together...❤︎
She got a little dollar for her tooth and was so happy to fially have the expereince with the tooth fairy...❤︎

Opening Ceremonies

This last Friday night we had our opening ceremonies for our AA baseball season.
Eden and I took the opportunity to pull our our Dodger hats:
It is such a fun night to be with families that we have played with for the last 4 years.  We have watched our kiddos grow and I love the camaraderie that sports have given us with people in our city and schools. We are looking forward to having a great season (If the rain would stop, that would be GREAT!)

Read Across America...

This last Friday was "read across america" where they invite parents to bring lunch and picnic while reading and then invite parents to read in the class rooms.  It is also the week that we hold our book fair.
We get to go to school with some of our FAVORITE PEOPLE:
Cousins that are sisters are the best!
Also our principal is the absolute coolest!
I got to read two of our favorite books:
It is so fun to be in their class rooms and know their friends and spend time with their teachers that I love SO MUCH!

A new member of the family...

For Eden's birthday, we told you that her Grandi and Monkey Papa got her a baby doll.
Well, Eden has been taking on the role of being a "new mom" very seriously:
She holds her while she does some math, and sets her up in the high chair for meals:
I am also given instructions for how to care for the baby while Eden is at school:(She also refers to me as the baby's grandma. Twice. Too soon...)
I take a selfie to prove I'm paying attention to the baby...
There is also a regimen for nap times:
Rock her until she falls asleep
And when she is "crying" (Note, the baby does not make actual sounds) , Eden has no choice but to hold her.  She actually fell asleep holding her:
Being a new mom is exhausting for her and "Uncle Ryder" is having the best time with his front row seat to watching his sister...
