Bump! Set! Spike!

As soon as Eden got her cast off, she was so excited to play volleyball with friends at school. She made the All-Star team and she had so much fun!

It’s always so fun to do stuff with your besties…

A weekend tournament for our girl...

This last weekend, Eden's team was invited to play in the Surf Cup in Oceanside.  She was SO excited!

She even got some time in the field out of the goal!
The team made it to semi-finals in Del Mar but we lost in PKs. This tournament Eden played in the field and she really had so much fun! We are so proud of our girl and her team!

A Two-Tournament Kind of Weekend…

This last weekend, both kids had a tournament, Ryder in Oceanside, Eden in Irvine and Santa Monica. Kit and I divided up, sent updates and photos to each other and leaned on our teammates to get the kids where they needed to be. There was lots driving… Here are  a few snapshots of the weekend:
In Irvine:
Eden had a night game and it was really fun to play under the lights and out of the heat! She got to play in the field and that was SO fun to watch!
They took home the win!!!
In Oceanside:
After three days and five games, Ryder’s team also took
home the championship win!!!

So quick recap… Kit and I have SO many reasons to be proud of these two, who they are on and off the field.

Now I need a nap…

Time together...

Last week, the kids started training sessions together...

I loved watching their skill levels and how the coach would have them practice together.  They are so focused when they practice, and I love watching them encourage each other... Their friendship is growing and deepening and I love watching that happen!

I little snapshot...

Ryder got to play with basketball for a little tournament for his school.  With playing city sports, we knew so many kids from all the different schools and getting to see their parents was so fun!  After the tournament, the coaches from his incoming high school wanted his to consider playing next year, which made Kit and I laugh.  The kid just loves all things athletic...

basketball...

Ryder decided to play basketball for his school, with his friends. He is the forward.  He really loves playing any sport and to watch him be with his friends is really fun!

I love these boys so much!

Coming into her own...

Eden has fallen in love with soccer even more over the last few months and I am so excited to watch her grow!  She played two games this weekend and they won both.  We love cheering our favorite girl on!

more soccer...

Ryder and Eden have both been looking ahead to the Fall and are excited to play more soccer.  These are the months for tryouts for all the local club teams and it has been so sweet to watch them doing it together.  Ryder has already been invited to play to flights above where he has been playing and is excited to stay with his current club, Strikers.

Eden has been going out and doing so well and has been given contracts and invitations to play, especially since she is a goalie but is also really strong in the field... I excited to see where she ends up.

We are so proud of these kiddos and I can't tell you how fun it is to watch them have fun while growing and developing their soccer skills.

A first for us...

We have a friend from church named Ashley that is a sports physical therapist. Ryder recently pulled something in his knee and so we had the opportunity to see her.  SHE IS AMAZING!

She took such amazing care of him... We have a pulled adductor muscle and left with a comprehensive plan on how to strengthen out athlete... 🖤

She was his Sunday school teacher when he was in kindergarten.  She is the absolute best and cares for Ryder so sweetly...

soccer

We are playing lots of soccer right now and the kids are LOVING it...

I never want to forget how special it was so just sit on their sidelines and cheer them on while they did something they loved...❤︎
Also, while we were at a game at a school in Costa Mesa, we were greeted with these wall murals:
We all loved them...
