This halloween was so special. With the kids being 4 1/2 and 2 1/2, the excitement was palpable the whole time leading up to the actual day. With everything from the costumes and the decorations and getting the candy and planning the dinner for that night and getting to be in our new house in our new neighborhood... It was almost magical this year. We loved it!
So here were the highlights of the evening:
Understanding that this was candy to give away was slightly confusing:
I promised her she would get lots of candy that night with Trick-or-Treating:
She was thrilled!
We made our favorite soup for dinner:
That evening it was cool and it actually rained that night...
It was the perfect soup weather!
Then it was time to get all dressed up:
The way that we did it this year was that I took the kids on our cul-de-sac for the first part of the festivities and Kit handed out candy, then I came home and Kit and I switched and he took them for another hour or so to other parts of our neighborhood.
They finally got home and got to tear into their treat bags and pick one candy to eat before they headed off to baths and bedtime. It was such a memorable first halloween in this house and this neighborhood and we are so excited for the memories that we will be able to create together!
