Camping adventures with my sister...

On Friday, my sister and I headed to the Angelus Oaks area to car camp in the roof-top tent and to enjoy some hiking!  I have never gone without Kit and I wanted everything to go so well.  Needless to say, even with a thunder shower, we had the BEST TIME!

As we got into town, first stopped at the Jenks Lake trail for a hike and picnic.

Then we headed to our camp site:
There was some thunder storms but were not too bad!
We made an amazing dinner of carne asada tacos/salads...
We played Rumi tiles until we were ready for bed:
The tent was so cozy in the rain!
We woke up to blue skies, really good coffee and a tasty breakfast:
We headed out to another hike with some beautiful views of San G!
We had an amazing time, filled with really good food, conversation, hiking, connection, memory making, and lots of laughter!  We really can't wait to plan another trip!
I love you Sister!

Friday

My sister and I are heading out to a car camping trip today, so I won't have my usual day with Kit.  I am excited to make memories with my sister, but I will miss my solo time with this guy.  Last week we got to go to lunch together, and since it had been so long, I found myself enjoying it even more...

I am so excited for what this weekend will hold...

Harry Potter...

While Kit was in the UK, he visited Durham University and Cathedral to gather information on doctoral programs.  (We are in the very early stages of researching it...)  It was about 3 hours by train outside of London.

He saw places that Harry Potter was filmed...
The kids lost their minds when they saw their dad in this place!

Open House 2023

Our last open house for elementary school is on the books.  Last Thursday, we were able to celebrate their hard work and see their projects and learnings of the year.  It was sweet, Ryder wanted to come and see the school for the last Open House. We started by grabbing dinner at In-N-Out:

Heading to school:

She was so excited to show us all of her work!
Eden's portion to this collage was the eye that has the red and black with it...
We have loved our teacher:
We have been at our school for the last 8 years and to think that we are finishing up here is just crazy to me. We love our school, our teachers, as well as the community that we have connected with in the years that we have been here.  I will miss this place so much!
Eden decided that she wanted something "baked" so we took a little trip to Milk and Cookies in Santa Ana and it was SO good!
It was a very sweet way to end the day!
