Eden's Fifth Grade Promotion and the last day of school...

On Friday, the last day of school,  Eden had her promotion from fifth grade, meaning that we now have 2 middle schoolers.  She felt very celebrated!  But first, photos:

We had the dad's get there early to save seats.  They were first in line and that was so fun!
During her promotion, they had the parents stand up who were here with their youngest child, and were then finished with elementary school.  I cried.  I really love this school...
Our teacher was the best!
Also, Eden's kindergarten teacher and second grade teacher came to watch the graduation.  They are bioth retired and still came to celebrate our kiddos!
Eden and Ryder's first grade teacher is battling cancer and still came to celebrate our kids!
Our fourth grade teacher celebrated Eden as well and we just loved her!
It was a sweet celebration time...
Yes, I brought the letter boards because I just can't help myself...❤︎
Clapping out our fifth graders:
We finished the day by eating lunch with close friends:
It was such a sweet day as we closed out the chapter of having elementary school kids... I just can't believe that we are done.  She is ready for what is coming and I am so excited for her!  Her brother is ready to love on her as she starts this next phase of life!

A field day, a fifth grade play, class parties, and the end of a chapter...

Tuesday was Eden's class play.  It is always so sweet to watch her with her classmates over the years at  events like these.

Kit and I even snuck in a date right after!

Wednesday I was supposed to be at work but got called off for a low census. Wednesday was also Eden's school's field day.  With Kit being on his sabbatical, we were both able to support all of the activities!  She LOVES having her dad at school events.  He's also so good at working with kids...

Her little besties...

Yesterday was Eden's last elementary class party. I am so glad that Kit was with me to celebrate her with her class. The theme was "camping", and out room mom put blankets over the tables and desks, had a popcorn and lemonade bar and the kids brought games to play with each other. They signed each other's shirts and frisbees that they could play with over the summer.  Kit manned the lemonade station... He't the cutest!

We also go to say good bye to our favorite crossing guard, Miss Linda.
We loved that we got to make these memories together!

Today is her promotion and fifth grade celebration.  And then it is done, our elementary school chapter will be finished.  I am excited for our next chapter and what is ahead.  Eden is ready, but to be honest, I am not sure I am as ready as she is but I know that she is and she will do AWESOME!

May books...

This month has flown by!  Here were some books I was able to read this month:

I loved the continuation of Anne of Green Gables.  I love the spunk of the characters that she has created and how simple the stories really are.  I have really enjoyed the extended adventures for sure!
I love any book that looks at how we can draw closer to to Jesus, and in part, how we can be changed and formed in his presence and through his spirit.  I am so grateful for Rich's words and tools that he gave in this book.  I would highly recommend it!
This book by John Mark Comer discusses the lies that we believe and live into from the devil, the world, and the flesh, and how those lies pull us from the peace and joy and fullness of life that God has for us.  It was inspiring and though provoking and I really enjoyed reading and thinking through it and being challenged by it.
This book was a fun read that was suspenseful with twists and the story line was enjoyable to follow.  I enjoyed the story line and the development of a step-mom and daughter relationship as the try to put together pieces of a family history.
I loved this book by Nijay Gupta about women in the bible and how they led their communities, taught and ministered to those in the early church and set an example of what it is to do those things well!  It was eye opening and fascinating to learn so many new things and perspectives, culturally and theologically. I would HIGHLY recommend it!
