Sports themed goody bags!

This Saturday, my Ryder turns NINE!!! I still can't believe it.  He is excited to celebrate his birthday with an upcoming backpacking trip with Kit.  We wanted to make goody bags for his class and knowing Ryder, going with a sports theme seemed like the best/obvious choice❤︎...
 The whole thing started with these little basketball hoops.  He lost his mind with excitement.  Basketball is currently his favorite thing to play at recess. They seemed perfect! Then we just added fruit rollups and stickers.
He can't WAIT to hand these out at school to his class!

Spring...

Two of my favorite things right now:
All of our citrus trees are in full bloom and the air around our house is FILLED with the smell of orange blossoms:

And our Trader Joes recently updated their flower displays:
I love these little signs that Spring is here...❤︎

It has FINALLY begun!

After weeks of cancelled games due to Rain and wet fields, last Thursday Ryder FINALLY had his first game!  He started at 3rd base and was later rotated in as pitcher.
 Ryder always leads the warmup with Coach.
I am not going to lie, I was a nervous wreck the first time that he took the mound.  He wasn't. He was ready.  He was confident, consistent, and calm.  He did SO well and it was SO fun to watch him in action.  I got a few videos but to be honest, I wasn't getting any photos because I couldn't take my eyes off his little build that can throw strikes like nobodies business.
They won 13-6.
We celebrated at In-N-Out after the game.
When we walked in, there were 6 firemen waiting for their dinner and asked how the game went and all cheered when he said they had won. they patted him on the head and told him good job and you could tell that meant so much to him.
Then on Saturday was our Leagues Pancake Breakfast:
It's a sweet time to see all of the families that you have grown to know and love.
It feels so good to have had the season officially start!
We are excited for what it holds... Go Dodgers!

little pick-me-ups...

On Wednesday's, our carpool buddy takes an art class after school so I get to pick my kids up.  Seeing their little faces when they see you in the pick up line is priceless.  More often than not, we stop and get ice cream on the way home and we talk about our day...
It's our little mid week pick up, pick-me-up...❤︎
It's such a fun tradition and has been creating such fun memories for the three of us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There will be a time when they are at different schools with different pick up times and won't want to share as much and the idea of ice cream won't be as exciting, but for now, we are going to enjoy every minute of it!
Words according to Eden
Eden has been saying a few things that we want to remember.  Here are words/translations:
"Bagini" = Bakini a.k.a "Mom, that mommy is wearing a REALLY small bagini..." (at the Great Wolf Lodge.)
"Instruction" = Construction a.k.a "Mom, there is so much instructions happening around here!"
"Peek" = Keep a.k.a. "Mom, Ryder peeks telling me what to do and he is not the mom or daddy!"
"Beanstalks" = Stockings a.k.a "Mom when we decorate for Christmas next year, can I get a beanstalk to hang on the fireplace for my dollie?"
"Rotilla"= Tortilla a.k.a "Can I have a rotilla and cheese for my snack mama?"
