Oliboli Donuts!

New friends from ROCKHARBOR opened a new gourmet donut and coffee shop in old town Tustin! It. Was. So. GOOD!
It is so dangerous that this place is so close to where we live and we are excited to have them in our town! Congratulations Oliboli!

While Ryder practices...

...I get time with my girl.  Sometimes we go to the playground, sometimes she rides her bike while I run, and sometimes we go on a nature hike.  Recently she picked to go on a nature hike.  It was so sweet:
Seeing things through her eyes is truly a magical experience...❤︎

National "Talk Like A Pirate" Day

Last Wednesday, Ryder told me that he needed a pirate hat or scarf for a school project.
I simply thought it was something that he was doing for his class.
Little did I know that September 19 is "National Talk Like a Pirate Day."
Later that day, we walked into our library to pick up some books and found our librarian dressed like this:
She shared that it was a day the library recognized and had activities, and reading and all sorts of fun.  I had NO idea that talking like a pirate had it's own special day, but we sure enjoyed it!

bikes, park adventures, and meltdowns averted...

We took a bike ride to the park the other day and found this poster:
We loaded the app and Ryder and I had the sweetest time doing all the "missions" that it gave us to do:
While we were doing the scavenger hunt, Eden had a complete meltdown. Ryder got off his bike and hugged her.  He listened to her.  It stopped me right in my tracks.  He is SO good with her.  He brings a calm, nurturing presence when he is with her.  He is so patient.  I am thankful that I have a front row seat to watch their friendship grow and flourish.  Their relationship brings so much joy to my heart and I am incredibly thankful to be their mom.
He helped her turn it around and we were able to salvage the adventure.
My heart is grateful for these motherhood moments that I am able to witness, the good and the hard.
I have so much to learn from my children...❤︎

I could do this all day, every day...

Dating my husband is something that I can't get enough of.  It fills my heart and nurtures my soul.  On this particular date, we went to a little spot in our downtown, and then walked around and looked at the homes that were build in the late 1800s and early 1900's.
Our favorite is the chilaquiles and the horchata with milk.
Kit, we are better together.  I adore you.  You are my favorite person of all time.
Thank you for how you love me and how you always fight for us.❤︎

A Tustin Tradition!

There are really no words to say how amazing this man's creation is:
We LOVE it EVERY year!
Thank you Domenico for creating this incredible masterpiece each year!❤︎

Fridays are for...

...getting lost in conversations and laughter and finding new favorite places to go on dates!
Kit Rae, I plan to date you for the rest of my life...❤︎

A first for us...

On July 11, it was the "get free chicken at Chik-fil-A day" I mean I don't know what they actually call it, but we have never done it before.  (I know, it is not like us to pass up free food!)
The kids had the best time printing out their cow masks and coloring them and getting to wear them through the drive through:
It was also July 11 A.K.A. 7-Eleven day, where we got free slurpees:
Honest to goodness, the kids thought that it was the best day ever.  I can't believe it was our first time to enjoy either of those things!  We are already for next year...❤︎

I can't get enough...

I realize that I am down to a few short months before summer is here and we prepare for Kindergarten for Eden in the Fall... Time has been going so quickly and I think it makes me capitalize on each minute together.  We have been frequenting our favorite library to either walk the historic grounds, have picnics, read books, or all of the above!❤︎
We always end up with a huge stack of Fancy Nancy books... They never seem to get old for her...
We park it in the isle and read together:
I just can't get enough of her...
One of our favorite parts of the grounds is to go to the barns:
Every time, she will tell you how it's the perfect place to raise horses and unicorns...
I couldn't agree more...❤︎

Katie Wheeler Library

This little spot has become a favorite of ours!
We walked past old barns from the early 1900s and Eden said, "I wish we had a barn so that we could raise horses and unicorns.... That would be so fun!"
The old foreman's houses.  Each as cute as the next...

bikes

After school, this is their favorite way to enjoy some fresh air and be outside before dinner...
How fun to watch them enjoy things together!❤︎

More park adventures!

Eden and I tackled three more parks on our Tustin Park map tour.
First, Montgomery Square Park:
Columbus Grove Park:
We picnicked at the fountain and it really felt like we were somewhere else... It was just lovely!
And finally Frontier Park:
I just love these little adventures that really are happening are in our backyard and we get to enjoy each other.  Please little girl, I need you to stop growing SO FAST!
