The "Fairiest" in the Land...

So Eden has decided that she wants a fairy themed birthday. (These conversations start with her asking when her birthday is, what her dessert will be, who will be there, and then what we will decorate with...) All valid questions, and ALL appreciated by this "plan-ahead-mother"...
I think the whole thing started when she got this flower crown:
She kept saying how she felt like a "fairy princess"...
As we have SLOWLY been getting ideas (to remind you, her birthday isn't until the end of February), I have been having fun on the little creative details that make the party a little more unique! We found this idea at the craft store: wooden mushrooms.
And then we found smaller pieces that I was able to glue together:
So after looking at pictures of fairy parties, we decided to go with the "traditional" red and white mushroom color combo...
We are so excited for how they came out!
They are already getting used in her pretend play with her princesses and fairies!

let it snow...

or snow"flake" in this case...❤︎
A little pre dinner entertainment of arts and crafts:
We had some fun!
The next day, we decided to take our snowflakes and decorate Kit's office.
We also decided to bring hot banana bread to our friends at church too!
The whole experience was really sweet and I think I might have to make this some sort of tradition while the kiddos are little!❤︎

getting ready to celebrate this girl...

In about a month we are going to be celebrating this little lady's third birthday.  I just can't believe that my baby girl is going to be three!!! Time really does time go fast...
Even though it will be a tiny party, I am having fun planning the little details so that she feels special and celebrated:
My sweet friend Angelina had thrown a baby shower when I was pregnant with Eden and lent me the bunting banners that she had used.  I made a felt garland to match and am working on a few more!
She also gave me extra fabric to use for more craft projects!
Oh this little girl...
We can't believe how amazing she is!
When party planning I know the reality: the truth is, just having her grandparents and cousins in town will make her feel like such a queen!

Today Kit leaves for a 5 day conference in Tennessee and we are already missing him so much...
We love you Kit!
Thank you for working so hard for our family...
Hurry home to us...
We just can't wait to see you on saturday!

creating: yarn wrapped stars

I finally finished my last christmas project that I had wanted to tackle this year for our house.  Specifically for our tree: a star tree topper.
It looks a little bit like a star fish...
I just loved how it finished off the tree!
Yesterday, while it was pouring rain, we made hot chocolate to have while we colored our advent ornaments and read the christmas story...
We are so excited to celebrate the birthday of Jesus!
