farmers market finds

Last week, when it was rainy and cold, we headed out to our local farmers market to get some vegetables for soup.
In addition to the veggies that we wanted, we found a few other things, like amazing tacos, kettle corn, and strawberries...
 It was avery tasty outing!

pickles, leaping waters, and meat eaters

Yesterday we took our lunch to an outdoor leaping water spot in our little downtown.
Our lunch contained a large New York deli pickle.  Yep, they take after their mama:
(Eden wouldn't give it back!)
I love when we get little moments like this as a family...♥

Kit is heading out today for a four day backpacking and hunting trip with his brother Andrew and their cousin Michael.  The kids and I are going to miss him terribly but I know that he will have such a fun trip.  I'm just praying for safety!  We are heading out to be with family in Redlands, and we are REALLY excited about it!
Hurry home Kit Rae.
We can't wait to hear all about it! We love you and miss you already!

enjoying our down town (Plus an unexpected photo tradition)

On saturday morning, we decided to walk to our down town for coffee.  I love our little town and the walk is just perfect!  THere are lots of trees and there is a park on the way t hat Ruder loves and we can ALWAYS find a treat to to enjoy on the way.
This particular saturday, we went to green bliss cafe.  (Eden slept most of the trip.)
They use Verge coffe in their drinks and they always taste so good! They are located in an old historic hotel in the center of down town.
Ryder loves the fountain that is in the center of the courtyard.  It is SUCH a kid friendly place!
If you are in the area and are in the mood for some great coffee and a fun place to talk, you have to check them out!
Then, armed with our treats (The banana bread is so good!),  we headed to the park.
Wit Kit's traveling schedule coming to a close, we are enjoying these long leisurely days of family time!  I hope that you have  great monday, my friends!
ps, I hope that you had a very happy St. Patrick's Day yesterday!

snap shots of the weekend...

The weekend went by so fast (as it always seems to do) and here we are at another Monday.  In the last few months, we have gotten these little windows of family time and I find myself eating it up, trying to savor every second.  The simplest things bring our family such joy just because we get to be together.
So here are a few snap shots of our weekend before Kit left for Canada on sunday.
Saturday morning was filled with silliness and snuggles with our littles.  They are so precious in their little jammies and morning faces!
Then I tackled some laundry while Kit tried to prep for his upcoming trip.
(Who says laundry has to be boring...)
Once Kit did it, Ryder had to try it:
Then it was time to get some work done:
We walked to our little down town for coffee and a relaxing stroll. It was so peaceful to just be outside and it created such perfect conversation time!
Somebody got a great nap...
Our library was having it's annual book sale and we checked it out and then we spent some time at the park.  Pretending to be an airplane is a favorite whenever we are near a swing...
(For Ryder, not for Kit or I...♥)
Ryder LOVES smoothies and he thinks it is SO funny when he gets mustache...
He is a silly kid!
Notice the car in his hand.  Blue McQueen goes with us everywhere.
Eden is so close to walking.  She motors around our furniture and with her little push car.
She is such a delight.
Kit left for Calgary on sunday.  We miss him so much and as always, we miss him because he is so amazing in so many ways when he is here...
I hope that you have a great monday.  My mom is coming in to be with us for a few days and I am so thankful to be close so that we can have those special moments!
Ps, How great are the longer days!  I never enjoy when we have to lose the hour, but I think it feels like we get more time.
Ryder and I mowed the lawn and vacuumed out the car and realized it was almost 630p!  I am excited about the long summer days that are coming...

Christmas lights

We love looking at christmas lights.  We love bundling the kids up and getting hot chocolate and driving to our favorite spots.  If you are in our neck of the woods, here are two spots that have amazing christmas lights:
Yale street in Fullerton:
(The entire street hangs these light spheres from their trees and it goes for several blocks.)
And can I just say that the pictures do not do them justice...)
A few of the homes wrap their entire trees.  It's beautiful!
One house has their entire house in the theme of The Charlie Brown Christmas, and since Ryder loves that movie, you can imagine how much time we spent in front of that house:
One house syncs their lights to music.
Last year I felt VERY pregnant when we came here, so it was fun to have Eden with us this year!
Her eyes were HUGE while looking at all the lights.
The other spot that we like to go is off of Starflower street in Brea.  Over 100 homes participate and they do an incredible job making it a spot that is fun for families to be together.
Since we put up our nativity scene, Ryder LOVES seeing them around in people's homes and yards.
Each time he see's one he shouts out, while pointing to Mary, Joseph, and Jesus,  "Oh, look! mama, dada, bebe Jesus!"  And depending on what animals are present, I get the list of those with their animal sounds.
This one was a favorite!
It really helps remind me of what we truly get to celebrate this time of year!
I hope that you have a wonderful day!

storytime

Yesterday, the kids and I went to our first storytime at our public library.
I'm going to be honest, it started a little rough.  I was late because Eden had TWO HUGE blowouts.  Then we walked into the room and Ryder freaked out that I was going to drop him off with total strangers.
Then he just wanted to walk around the encyclopedias, until he found the computers with fun games and he was a very happy camper...
We finally relocated to the kids area where he became fixated on puzzles.
He played with other kids and we ended our little outing on a very positive note.
We will be doing it again!
