So as our parents were at the hospital with our Grandma Marie, and after we had gotten time with our Uncle, the cousins all came together to our house for dinner...

There may have been too much food... Italian problems...
We did a gift exchange of all of our favorite things and it was such a hit! Everyone loved what they ended up with and I loved that we all had to guess what each person's favorite thing was.
We ended the evening outside with our fire pit and 'smores and the kids played soccer. The evening was so sweet in the midst of the hard. Kit did an amazing job being available and on-call for anything we all needed. He made all of the food and set up the house and little details like such a rockstar... We were planning to do it all together and he was all about making whatever we needed to happen, happen.
Next year will look different, but as a family, we will be together as we look back on this one as a sweet time where there was celebration in the midst of navigating a really difficult time.
