leaving on a jet plane...

Today Kit leaves to speak at a conference in Seattle.  We miss him already!  I am so happy that he gets to do something that he loves, but we always wish he were here with us.
Kit Rae~
We love you and we can't wait to see you on Saturday.  We are praying for you.  We are so proud of you!
Hey, have some fun too♥!

one of our favorite Fullerton spots

We took the kids on our favorite trail the other day and it was so much fun!  This trail has some significance for Kit and I, in that pretty much any big changes or decisions for our family were verbally processed on it, from job/church changes, to moving, from job transfers, trips to take, things to save for, to having babies and starting a family...
If that trail could talk, the stories it could tell about us...
I love the opportunity to be outside in beautiful weather and talk with Kit and share what's on our minds and hearts.
It's a good life...
ps, Angelina,
Thank you for letting me use your Moby wrap.  It has been such a blessing!  Love you!

announcements, scrapbooking, and invites, oh my!

This month, we will be celebrating two birthdays: My sister is 40 today and Ryder is turning two and we will celebrate him on March 31st.  Both will be small family parties, but that does not mean that we will not be making some invitations!

For Ryder, we are doing a dinosaur themed party.  For those that don't know, my little boy LOVES dinosaurs.  It's the perfect theme for him!  Again, keeping it simple we started with this photo:
And came up with this:
I love his face.  I can't believe that he is going to be TWO!
Then I wanted to tackle some birth announcements:
I used this picture that Kit took:
And came up with this:
It's been a busy week!
I have also tried to stay on top of baby books and scrapbooking and have been having so much fun looking at the recent pictures of our growing family.  My heart is so full!
And for my sister, her invites started out like this:
Seriously, how cute is she?!
And we came up with this:
Sister of my heart~
Happy 40th birthday!
(So that makes us 36 right?♥)
We can't wait to celebrate you this weekend...
We love love love you like crazy cakes!
Inside there is still a little sister that wants to be just like you when I grow up...

celebrating staley rae

This weekend I was privileged to be part of a baby shower that celebrated my sister-in-law Mallory and our niece, Staley Rae, due at the end of May.
The women that put this together are incredibly creative and it was such wonderful day celebrating Mal and Staley.  They are the dream team of party planners.  All Eden and I did was open our front door and they completely transformed our house.
Look at what they did!
This was Eden's first party, and since the colors were pink and gray, I dressed her accordingly...
Mal, We love you and we can't wait to meet Staley!
We are thankful to have you as our family AND a close friend ♥...

green

With Kit being home over the last few weeks, we have been tackling little projects, and I wanted to share one with you.
We took the white wall that holds my photos of Ryder in our living room from this:
To this:
We aren't really huge fans of painting accent walls, but because of the way our room is divided up, we are really happy with how it seems to create a cohesive look throughout the space.  (Or at least we think so...♥)
And in honor of St Patricks Day tomorrow, here are some pictures that we got of the kiddos:

Have a wonderful weekend!

life with little people

Since the arrival of miss Eden, things just seem to take me longer.  (I know, shocker... forgive that I am slow, I am also very tired...)  We have little people in our house, one  being only a couple weeks old and the other being less than two.  Sometimes I am able to get things put away and cleaned up, and other times I stand back and laugh at how things like dinosaurs ended up in my make up drawer or in my bed.
I need to remind myself that it won't be like this for long, that my babies won't be babies forever and that releasing a little control (Ok a lot of control) is a really good thing for me, specifically as a wife and mother.  I am so thankful that my family is patient with me.  Kit, you are an incredible teammate!
So here are some pictures that I have taken over the past week just to document our home with a two week old and a two year old:
Some day things will be put away, and I will miss having dinosaurs show up in random places...
Our bedroom:
Here's how it's been until the coffee kicks in:
How I like Ryder's room:
How Ryder likes his room:
How I like my kitchen to be:
My kitchen when we are trying to get everyone to the table for a meal:
Where Kit and I enjoy time when the kiddos are down:
(Recently Eden Marie has been hanging with us a lot too...)
Where the kiddos like to be up and play:
(Ok, so Eden isn't exactly playing at this point, but this is where she will eventually I'm sure)
Needless to say, by the end of the day, our home vacillates  between tidy/clean to very much lived in by our little family of four.
Also at the end of the day, what really matters is that we get to be with these little people:
(Ryder wanted us to put Eden in his crib so he could hold her hand:)
It really doesn't get much better than that!
I want to take it all in, and I don't want to rush it, no matter how chaotic it might feel.
Thank you to my friends and family that have encouraged me in this transition process.  My type A personality has really felt your prayers and words of wisdom♥!

disneyland

Yesterday we took Ryder and Eden to Disneyland.  It was Eden's first time and it was really fun!  I Moby wrapped Eden and Ryder just chilled in the jogger.
Ryder enjoying a corn dog:
Getting a "first visit" pin for Eden:
I doubt she will remember the trip...
Going to California Adventure:
Going on Rdyer's favorite ride:
It was a really fun day.  I love getting family time together!
