MLK

Today we honor an incredible human being.  Here are some of my favorite Martin Luther King, Jr. quotes:

Taking time for photo organization

My pictures came in from Costco from all of our holiday adventures and memory making and I’m loving these moments to organize and get them all sorted in our photo albums…

It must be Thursday…

Every workday, I take the same staircase I took when I worked in oncology. I remember the dread of what the end of life held for that shift. I would take the 5 flights of stairs and go left onto the oncology unit. Now, I take those same steps but go right into my unit. I ridiculously grateful for those years of experience but I’m even MORE grateful to be be where I am now…

Snap-shot of our little reader...

My daughter has absolutely flourished with reading.  We were recently introduced to a the series "The Vanderbeekers" and Eden can NOT get enough. She received books for Christmas. Every night this is where you would find her!

She is flying through the series and we are here for it!
You may already know all about it, but if you, like us, hadn't heard about it, according to Eden, you will not be disappointed!

20 years

While we were at the cabin, on January 4, Kit and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.

2 decades ago, we had stood in front of our close family and friends and committed our lives to each other, promising to love and care for one another while  keeping Christ as the center and foundation of our marriage.  We ended out vows with these words that still ring true to this day:
"You are the one that my soul loves and I choose you and only you to spend the rest of my life with..."
I am so grateful for the life that God has allowed us to create  and share together. Kit, I just adore you.  Thank you for loving me so well and for always fighting for us. I will always choose you.  I pray God blesses us with many years together...

New Year at the cabin...

We spent most last week in Shaver Lake with SO much snow!

Our pond...
Our meadow...
it was so beautiful!
We got time with our family:
Walking to the abandoned cabin near our cabin to see it in the snow...
We spent time crafting, playing games, eating, and watching movies...  We had Ryan, Megan, Kaitlyn, and Aiden with us for our first night and the cousin time was so sweet to see!
It was hard when they left to go back to school.
We got to take the kids cross country skiing one day.
The last time we took the kids cross country skiing was in 2013 and we were wearing our kids:
The kids had so much fun trying something for the first time:
This is where I learned to snow ski and it was so sweet to share it with the kids...
The next day they went to China peak for the kids to learn how to down hill ski for the first time.
Grandi, Monkey Papa, Kit, Ryder, and Eden went.  It was the same slopes that Kit learned on.  It snowed heavily the entire and the kids OWNED the mountain.
We loved the memories and traditions that were made.  I am so thankful for time at this really special place...
