practice, practice, practice...

Eden has been writing her first and last name for awhile.  She recently has been more into her middle name, so she has LOVED to practice with her dry erase board!
Her little face brings a smile to mine every time!

in celebration of our three year anniversary...

March 19 marked our three year anniversary of owning this home.  We have loved it and have slowly made it ours over the last few years.  So in honor of that, tackled a tiny house project in our kitchen.
Here is a reminder of what our kitchen looked like when we did our walk through, right before we moved in:
Of the many things that we wanted to change, we knew that we needed to address the lighting.
So Kit decided to finally tackle our fluorescent light box.
It's always fun to tackle a project when our favorite contractor is in town...❤︎
Even with the things we dream of doing to this kitchen, I can't believe how much these changes have made!
How thankful I am to call this our HOME!

Italian Weddings!

On March 17, we had a family wedding on my mom's Italian side.  I have to say that Italian family weddings are my favorite!
It was just beautiful and my cousin Lisa looked gorgeous!
To have our family in one place at one time is such a gift for us...
We had the best time being together...
The wedding was in Corona on a Friday at 4 pm, which meant that Kit and I capitalized on our time in the car and had the best time connecting...
I love moments that make you step back and say a prayer of thanks for the life that we are able to live...❤︎
"And I think to myself... what a wonderful world..."

St Patrick's Day 2017

Last Friday was St. Patrick's day and there were a few Irish happenings that made the day special:
We took Ryder and Eden's photos in their headbands...
(It just seems like yesterday that we were here:)
And then Eden had her St. Patrick's day parade at preschool:
They did music and then their Irish music teacher taught them a jig...
She was SO excited because she got to be there with kit, myself, and her Grandi, and Monkey Papa!
We had a wedding to attend and so they headed to Rockin' Jump for a fun evening together!
The next day, after house projects and a day at the ball field, we got to go to such a fun dinner together:
I don't know about the Luck of the Irish, but I DO know that we LUCKED OUT with the grandparents that we have on our lives!

sometimes you just need your brother...

This week the kids had their 6 month dentist check up.  As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, Eden was not having it.  She was crying and not wanting to go in.  I think with our pediatrician appointment and the checks and all the checks that they had to do, she had it in her mind that it was going to be painful...
Ryder was INCREDIBLE with her.  He talked with her while we waited, trying to distract her...
Then he said he would go first so that she could see what it would be like:
(He is sitting in the chair telling her that x-rays are no big deal and how OK he was...)
When it was her turn, she was so nervous.  He sat with her and talked her through the whole things and held her hand as long as he could.  When he had to step away, he told her how great she was doing and how he was right there for her.
He had his cleaning first.  He had just lost a tooth at school the day before and by the x-rays, there was a tiny portion of the root that was still there.  The dentist did a tiny bit of digging and there was some bleeding, and it was painful, but when she was finished, he looked at his sister and said, "See, Eden, not bad at all!"
She went into her cleaning so much more confident...
This boy of mine was absolutely himself and I love watching who he is and who he is becoming...
My heart was so proud  of our son and his tender, nurturing heart...
How thankful I am that they have each other!❤︎

Getting ready for Kindergarten!

These last few weeks, we have been getting things ready for Eden to start Kindergarten. Everything from filling out paper work to doing our five year old pediatricians appointment for the school check up.
She was so brave, from checking her hemoglobin with a finger prick, to getting her vaccinations all up to date.  She also had her eyesight and hearing checked and had a mobility test as well as a TB test.  There were some tears, but she kept saying how excited she was to be at Ryder's school and how HAPPY she would be when it was all over!
We went directly from the appointment to Target to let her pick out a toy and then home to snuggle up with the show of her choice... (Thumb and her Blankie made it so much nicer!❤︎)
Kindergarten, this healthy girl is all ready for you!
