Biola Homecoming weekend

This last weekend, we met up with our Biola family to attend the homecoming basketball game. It’s so nostalgic to be there! We had so much fun together. I love these people so much!

Meet the Huggs🧡

This last weekend on February 7, we welcomed a 1970 GMC Custom Camper to the family. It’s in the original Hugger Orange, so we are calling it the Huggs. We got to surprise Ryder and it was so special!

Welcome to the family, Huggs! Our boy has been dreaming of having a truck like you!

league champs

Ryder’s high school JV team won their league. Actually, their Frosh, JV, and Varsity won their league. It’s the first time all three have won in the same season in a very long time! It was really exciting!

I am so proud of these guys!

2026 Annual Marriage Retreat

This last weekend, we got to attend our annual marriage retreat hosted by our church. It was so good! It was led by the Grace’s, who run a marriage counseling center out of Biola. He was our psych professor in 1998 and is such a good guy. They shared so much wisdom!

When we get intentional time together, it makes my heart so happy! I love this man so much.

all hands (and paws) on deck

We had to trim our bunnies nails. I swear, they are the tiniest paws and it literally takes all of us to make sure we get it right. You would think we are doing surgery…Kit nabbed these photos as we were thanking our lucky stars that we don’t have to do this frequently.

Spring is coming…

Whenever I can get my act together to get up early enough, I love walking a loop in our neighborhood before the kids wake up. Right now, everything is blooming and feels so green.

I’m ecstatic about each new flower I see on my walks. California spoils me!

It’s February ❤️

With Valentine's day coming, it makes me want to prep for little gatherings with some crafting. I found these extra letter tiles and added magnets to the back to make a message board.

It was really sweet to think ahead of what this month holds!

January books

Here is what I read this month:

This is the book that the movie “A Man Called Otto” was made from. The story is so redemptive, and the characters and story development are the absolute best. Watching the character of Ove deal with his grief while learning to love and be loved by those around him was so special. I highly recommend!

Each year in January, I read through this book of sermons by Martin Luther King, Jr. It is so inspiring to listen/read his words and think of the impact that the Lord can invite you to have on the world.  I would absolutely recommend it.

No matter where I am physically on a Thursday… (whether I’m called off, on call, or actually at work, I’m mentally here every Thursday:

I could get used to this…

I just acquired the cutest chauffeur there ever was:

He has driven with his dad but January 18 was my first time driving with him. We drive the highlander around our neighborhood and he did great! He  has also taken me to the grocery store and nailed it!

Taco Tuesday

Around the corner from our house is a little hole in the wall spot that has killer gosh tacos and they are half price on Tuesdays. It was a spot we found right when we moved to the area. Every once in a while, I love grabbing lunch there. Here is the plan for today:

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend snap shots...

A low key weekend and a few snapshots of our shenanigans: We kicked off the weekend with a win for Ryder's high school team.  Kit baked bread to go with our favorite soup, we snuggled our bunnies, Kit did a memorial service out on a boat for a friend's dad from church, and we made the viral dumping bake from Trader Joe's for the second time and we loved it.  Sunday is always a day at church and then napping.  We had a really sweet weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

sibling moments

Eden had a hard day last week and her brother was the perfect person to lift her spirits.

At one point she had tears and he wiped them with his sleeve. I wanted to cry. I had to snapshot this moment, but it’s the type that as a mom, you’ll never forget.

Our Local Farmer’s Market

I went to our little downtown farmer’s market and came away with some amazing goodies…

I really love little outings like these!

A very exciting first for Ryder

On Saturday the 17th, Ryder was invited to play at the Serie A Elite talent ID camp in LA and he killed it! He scored the first goal, his first touches were excellent, he skill has grown like crazy over the years and he loved getting to be out there.

We are so proud of this kid!

mlk day

Today we remember and celebrate an incredible human being. Of the incredible words and works he shared with the world, this is probably one of my favorite quotes:

I look at the world we are in now and I reread his “I have a dream” speech and I wanted to weep, one with how broken it is, and one for hope of wholeness and not giving up that these big dreams can become realities…

unexpected date night

The other night so took Eden to practice and it happened to be close to Kit’s office. He met me there and we had a little time sitting and watching Eden’s practice and talking…

I love every chance I get to spend with this man…
